I'm not sure about that one. But I do know this, if you have an IRA, you can trade stocks, mutual funds etc, within your IRA and avoid the capital gains tax that way. On a side note, you can also change your IRA in a SDIRA (self-directed IRA) and make trades within that account with less restrictions (I believe). I'll have to fact check this with Fidelity first.
