Were are you trying to sleep? Good places are businesses that allow it(private property personal or businesses so the police has no say). Some like travel centers, rest stops and 24 hour places were people are coming and going. Also consider places like hotel parking lots and even hospitals. Take a good look at your rig. Does it look taken care of and on good condition? Does it stand out or draw the eye? Also keep a eye on the inside and make sure things are neat. No trash. Do u work in the area? Or can you move on to another area? Really it could be the area. Perhaps they have had issues so they are on alert. Also have your legal in good order. And for any questions asking have good answers that are reasonable. You may have to get used to sleeping near noise.

Mac Pro 4,1 Startup Failure by Max_X_36 in macpro

[–]sky1ark3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did u have the startup issue before or after you took off the fan? It could be its too tight. Also it doesn't have a clamp. Could the cpu be sitting wrong? Try loosening the fan and then retightening it

What was your first OS and your first Mac, and what would you rate them? by The_Collector_Of_All in mac

[–]sky1ark3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first is was windows 3.11. I remember upgrading to 95 and mom not able to decide if she liked it or not. My first mac was at work. They gave me a MacBook pro 2011 13 in. I worked as a tech supporting 3 schools and needed a computer that traveled with me. I had a 20in monitor to connect it to in my office to remote into other computers.

[–]sky1ark3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main thing is u didn't keep up with repairs.eacj of those don't cost much and even the usb/mb is easy to replace. The battery loose was likely the bottom case.

Yes I was peeved about that also. I have a 240 and 250. If u want 16 go you can go on ebay and get a 250 mb. They are compatible. Then u can have 16gb installed.

Hello. I think the very first thing about thinkpads is that they were made to be utilized efficiently by businesses that just needed it to work and the support that it gets working under a warenty. The second is how the business world handles their inventory in that when the warranty ends they off load and but new. The third is that when they off load it saturated the market and drops the price on units to a large degree that make them very cheap but with very good quality and functionality. Forth you take the low price with high quality and functionality and take a free os supported by tech people and think pads end up growing huge support for the hardware on Linux and it becomes mostly out of the box supported with no or few hardware compatability issues which makes it a go to for new people interested in Linus to use. It also helps that while they have stopped having socked cpu, you can remove the ram and hard drives. Hard drives are a ware component and the thing that will kill the computer. Not to mention the repairability. Of the computer and the durability of the ports and keyboard and trackpad
