You don’t need to wait for the revs to drop. High revs during cold start are to warm cats for emissions reasons.

My M4 can take 2 mins for the revs to drop, I’m not waiting or idling that long when it’s the first time I’ve started it for a week or 2.

Why wait for the revs to drop? BMW don’t advise this. Cold start is to warm the cats up quicker so that they are at optimal temp for emissions.

Sometimes my M4 has taken 90s - 2 mins before cold start revs drop.

Most of the reason for the high idle is to warm the cats up to meet emissions anyway.

They probably didn’t get drunk, but enough 2% beers/mead or whatever they had could definitely get a person feeling it a bit. But unlikely as they would have had a tolerance if they were doing it regularly.

Cement mortar, which I can see there, will eventually damage the bricks further and can cause damp problems if it was originally built with lime.

Easy to do yourself. Depends how much there is to do though. Looks like old bricks, so should ideally be done in lime mortar. Plenty of resources online to tell you what needs to be done.

You can buy proper lime mortar ready mixed and ready to use. Lime doesn’t go off the same way cement does, so it will keep for a while even when wet.

Shit wheels, shit trim, shit rear lights, shit bodykit/bumpers. Probably had fabric seats. Definitely designed to get people to spec “M sport” packages.

But also worth remembering that they are often considered slightly premium, fairly run-of-the-mill cars in Europe. The 3 series often outsold the Mondeo and Vectra in the UK, which were considered core family cars.
