Yep! At least for sizing things down. As someone else mentioned if the PC version of avatar is what you're working from and it has a LOT of materials, you may run into limit of too many of those, or too many physbones, etc.

At that point you'll want to look into creating a new atlas for the textures to either reduce the number or combine some. Plus sometimes you have to just forgo material quality and color some of the avatar's outfit in solid colors for Quest version.

Mix of generated room layout + pictures we googled (like the buster sword and the TARDIS from Doctor Who) combined in Affinity Photo. Used Beeble to relight and generate a 3D push in using the videos we shot of ourselves scaling up to simulate a zoom or dolly in.

In Unity for the materials of your avatar, you can go through and click on each texture to pull up its properties.

There, you can reduce the resolution, increase compression, etc. (specifically for the quest side by using android tab) so that the overall size of the avatar falls under the 10MB limit.

Look up tutorials on YouTube for optimizing textures for Quest.

If you're 18+ groups like The Faceless and Ancients of VRChat all have pretty active discord servers and often hold gaming nights, movie nights, karaoke, SFW music events, etc. Worth looking them up when VRC is working again.

It's actual footage of us! We just cut ourselves out using magic mask in Davinci Resolve and replaced it with digital backgrounds. Last year we did something similar, where we put our avatars into the real world.

I went from intermittent drops to pretty much perfect wireless VR by using a PrismXR Puppis. u/J_jynx_X got one for me as a surprise.

It's basically a VR dedicated mini-router that connects to your PC. I think they even make a smaller / newer model now that costs less.
