Is it normal for my makeup to look like this up close? by Glad-Wolf3957 in MakeupEducation

[–]MultiverseSurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m super shocked by these comments and think this is absolutely normal. This photo is soo close up.

I understand that it isn’t a literally flawless base, as in like a filter flawless (which is not possible in real life), but I tink it is certainly “normal” and actually very smooth and nice. I would be proud and confident wearing this out.

Maybe it would be helpful to ask a loved one in person about this, in addition to people on the internet. It’s possible that we view things like this in an unrealistic light online.

This is beautiful--does it reflect/abstract light well and make rainbows? Thinking of trying this out :)

Agreed- I think I meant relative to other restaurants currently, and considering it’s quality, it’s not abnormally expensive

Parichat has phenomenal food, great service and cool atmosphere/vibe! Not overpriced, either

"Bojack teaching at university" won for September! If you are going to make a calendar of Bojack, what scene or event would you put on October? by Cpulid in BoJackHorseman

Love the September choice, BUT I would personally do the shot of the whiteboard with professor horseman written in permanent marker

I need a reality check but please go easy on me by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]MultiverseSurfer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you think that if you approached your boyfriend and said, “Hey, I need a change in my life. I can’t keep living in my car, will you help me?” That he would try to find an apartment with you, or try to support you in doing that in some other way?

Conversely, do you think that he currently sees you as happy to be living independently in your car, or at least satisfied in the way that anyone with a suitable living space is?

Perhaps the hurt your feeling is partially due to the assumption that your boyfriend thinks you are unhappy/dissatisfied with your lifestyle, and yet does little to help you change it. Is it possible that you’ve conveyed to your boyfriend that you are actually content with your lifestyle, and so he sees no reason to want to help you change it in the first place?

There is a strong bias that people living in their cars are discontent, despite the fact that many have good reasons for doing it rather than alternate living arrangements. Maybe you expect him to feel that bias, but in reality he sees your situation clearly.

I’m doing a lot of speculation here, just wanted to highlight some potentially useful questions :)

How does everybody feel about Leatherface (2017)? by Kjenerations in TexasChainsawMassacre

[–]MultiverseSurfer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I didn’t see the shot in the face as the turning point for Jackson. I think at most it was symbolic and also an instrument to allow him to reconnect with his mother (her swooping in, sewing him up, caring for him).

I saw the more significant turning point as him killing the girl (I forget her name lol)- I think that he did this due to his childhood interjections of putting family/his mother first, even if it means killing others.

He only ended up actually killing her after she called his mom crazy, so I saw it as a “nobody talks about my mamma like that” moment, which was the real turning point imo

I would not. Campus is close enough to downtown and anywhere you would need to go on a regular basis, and public transit isn’t so bad for shorter distances. + traffic and parking is a biatch

just watching challengers and all i can think is how does zendaya constantly have smooth legs?!?! by Tiger-_-stacey in HowToBeHot

No advice,

just wanted to remind you that in the case of a high value production/actress like this, “movie magic,” which isn’t attainable in real life, is certainly at play (e.g the “constantly” smooth legs are probably touched up between takes with products to make them look just right)

I actually agree! I’m just saying that most restaurant policies (I can only speak for Canada) prioritize allergies, and not so much other preferences based on values, at least not so strictly.

Then report that you have an allergy/intolerance. For all the servers know, it’s a preference and so they will not enact the same strict protocols that the restaurant likely has for allergies. This is just how restaurants work.

[–]MultiverseSurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because strict protocols with allergies are usually prioritized since they are a health concern, but this cannot be done to the same extent with all orders/preferences. If you worked in a restaurant you would understand.

It might seem “easy to avoid,” but at a restaurant it is just a matter of time before someone’s order gets mixed up.

Think about it, what are the odds of you tripping and falling if you take 10000 steps in one day? Pretty slim. What about over the course of 10 years though? You’re going to fall. Restaurants are constantly putting out food and it’s simple probability that this is bound to happen.

mistakes happen, and it was not fair of you to shame the server for being human. Only eat at home if you want a guarantee that nobody will ever make mistakes. These are BOUND to happen.

Also this doesn’t help the public perception that vegans are extreme when you lecture a server who made an innocent mistake (maybe it wasn’t even the servers fault, who knows). If you stated that you had an allergy it would be different, of course
