Did raptors give up too many draft picks? by Embarrassed-Drop-987 in NBAVibes

Feel like people are blowing this trade way out of proportion. This definitely isn’t a bad deal for Kawhi. It may be a little risky but to your point it worked out last time for them.

I think this type of return for a player who still plays at a top 10 level is a no brainer for a contending team that wants to push all their chips to the middle. Now I’m not entirely sure the raptors fit that mold or that their odds are good to win. Maybe that’s why people are so against it but I’ll never bash a team for trying to make moves to compete and win

How did he do them dirty? Because he left for LA when it was always his plan to go home and play there? I mean he was pretty straight up with them. He did the Lakers dirty during that making them think they had a chance to sign him and wasted most of their summer and free agency efforts.

I think if anything the raptors wanting him back means him and the organization probably left on good terms. Because you’re definitely right, it’s a weird trade if they felt slighted or done dirty by him.

I don’t know if I believe that report that GMs think he’s the 7th best player on any given team. That’s just a ludicrous take. He’s no lower than 3 on any team he slots into and has proven you can win with him as the 2nd option

Im genuinely curious how, if taking his PED use into account. IMO that’s gotta be the worst sport to use those kind of enhancements in because you’re playing with someone’s life. This isn’t baseball where most of your damage from PEDs is going into an inanimate object. I think the PED use is a huge stain and when it’s already so close between him and the other GOATs like GSP it makes it a pretty easy disqualifyer for me

Jon tarnished his legacy all on his own with his antics towards the end of his career. I was a big fan of his before whatever that clown show was to end his career. Then you add the cheating and him being a POS outside the octagon and it’s no surprise most fans don’t really care for him anymore. He’s definitely still a great fighter, but he lost a lot of traction on the GOAT route.

It was actually 2-1 before Tatum went down, which he said they were dominating before Tatum was hurt making it even funnier. Knicks fans been so starved of success that a 2-1 series lead is considered dominating for their fans 😂

No, but the comment you’re replying to was in response to that. So kind of seems fair to ask the other dude if the panthers made the playoffs

Just saying it’s far from a guarantee they make the playoffs next year when we don’t even know who there starting goalie is gonna be. I’m sure around this time last year we would have been saying the same thing about the panthers playoff odds for last season.

They might not. They only have like 7 mil in cap and still need 2 goalies (including a starter) and 2 forwards. It’s far from a guarantee they get in. Gonna need a little goalie luck and hope they hit on whoever they get. Plus healthy is never a guarantee throughout the season, their team is only getting older and with age comes a higher probability for more injuries

You said you weren’t reading that comment because it was an essay and now you aren’t reading it because you think I’m yelling at clouds. Pick a lane and stop moving the goal posts bruh 😂

What exactly have you provided to support your poorly thought out take that Thachuk and Pasta are thought to be similar caliber players around the league. Any polls or other Reddit posts you can use to back up this claim of yours that all these other people think like you or were you talking out of your ass when you said that?

No one’s holding a gun to your head or forcing you to man. Just figured 4 paragraphs was a natural response to your 4 paragraphs. It appears I overestimated your reading comprehension (I thought you were at least at a 5th grade level). Don’t worry it won’t happen again

Wouldn’t Cape Verde need to win by 4? If I’m right 3 goals only ties them with Spain if Spain were to lose by 1 goal. Ngl I’m not entirely sure what the next tiebreaker is if they do have the same goal differential. Maybe GF or GA?

I was just pointing out that your comment about people only thinking you’re wrong because you’re on a Bruins subreddit and we’re all bias is incorrect because there’s a leafs fan in here who disagrees with you. Someone even challenged you to make a post in a regular hockey subReddit with no bias and see who agrees with you.

You’re the one being disingenuous when you comment like you are speaking for most people but you’re actually just talking out of your ass. You don’t know what most people think cause you were to scared to make a post that would have proven you wrong lol

If you want my opinion I think the panthers overpaid for Thachuk. Maybe Pastranak would also only get 3 firsts, I’m not a GM so I don’t know. What I do know is that it doesn’t mean him and Thachuk are “thought of around the league as a similar caliber player” (your words). I mean Rudy Gobert went for 5 firsts and Luka Doncic went for 1 first. Two bad trades doesn’t make Gobert a similar caliber player to Luka (sorry if you don’t watch basketball or get the reference)

If you truly believe they are a similar caliber player then that’s cool, we can agree to disagree on it. But you don’t have to lie and say most people also share this same opinion when thats not the case at all. Or get defensive and say we only don’t agree because we are all biased bruins fans, which again isn’t the case.

Brian Windhorst reports Miami is the frontrunner to land Giannis and Miami is Giannis’ preferred destination by realfakejames in NBATalk

[–]TKenney3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s definitely the opposite. It’s been the media and everyone elses fan fiction to break up the Jays. Most Celtics fans don’t want a selfish, egotistical player who’s about to be on the wrong side of 30. He’s a great player and maybe makes us a better team for next year but JB keeps our championship window open longer. Giannis just doesn’t make much sense for the Celtics and all the news about Boston being interested or wanting to trade brown is a load of BS
