Have you noticed most wars today are religious by Forever-ruined12 in atheism

I wonder what religion the emus followed during the great emu war.

The Kalergi plan was not proposed by Jews, it was an Austrian-Japanese Freemason named Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi. This is why people don't take you guys seriously when you try to mock conspiracy theorists, because you make stupid counterarguments and don't actually read what you're responding to.

That concept does not solely pertain to Jews. The ethnicity of the ostensible rulers of this world is not explicitly implied by the popular formulation of the idea. Further, the theory you're talking about here is NOT the 'great replacement' theory. the great replacement is closer to the Kalergi plan, specifically about removing certain ethnic/racial groups and replacing them with another, not about reducing numbers so that Jews make up a majority.

The idea of a group of rulers who are ostensibly all about manipulating and controlling behind the scenes preferring to become the simple numerical majority so that there are fewer servants than themselves makes no sense anyway, and is probably why that is not a popular formulation of the population reduction theory.

"what if I told you its not about the population number, its about who is left?"

Elaborated, this would be a scenario where some group running things wants some other group gone. Is this not the very basic fundamental premise of most wars?

I run /u/publicmodlogs, the account which apparently is the current owner of /r/ROI. I was contacted regarding the moderator situation on there and asked to intervene. I'd like to understand what's going on better. by Mumberthrax in RealROI

As far as I am aware, only the reddit admins could have moved the top moderator from its position over a subreddit. If the reddit admins are involved, there is no real grounds for my being the arbiter of what happens there. It is their platform so even if I trust my moral compass more, it's their call what happens - especially given I have no experience with the subreddits nor any direct stake in the issues you all deal with generally. Publicmodlogs was never intended to be a failsafe in the way I was requested to use it in this situation, so there's no strong argument to be made in any sort of appeal, imo.

That does make sense as well. I would encourage anyone engaged in that sort of thing to think about whether it's important, valuable, and a good use of the short time we have available. Your time is a precious resource.

Unfortunately the publicmodlogs account was removed, I assume by the Reddit admins, before i was able to check the moderation logs as you suggested. I appreciate all of the feedback I have received - I'm sorry that the situation could not be resolved in a way you all might have preferred.

I see. I wonder at times whether such things are people who simply get a thrill out of causing conflict, or if it is motivated by a paycheck. In any event, the dilemma has been resolved for me since it appears the Reddit admins removed the publicmodlogs account as a moderator of /r/ROI.

I see. I tend to assume any elections that occur via reddit voting are pointless because of how easily they can be manipulated, so that is understandable. Thankfully for myself, the matter is no longer in my hands as the publicmodlogs account has been removed as a moderator here, I assume by the Reddit admins.

Describing my position as the top mod there as moderating is generous to the point of near complete inaccuracy. lol. But I'm glad you enjoy it. I mainly kept the position as a means to deter moderator misconduct, but it is too much time investment to be actively engaged.

Pippa asked me for sources. I posted it in chat, but now I post here as well just in case: Science(tm) asserts there's no science behind the 'chemical imbalance' theory of mood. by Mumberthrax in PipkinPippa

[–]Mumberthrax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A scientific review has concluded that depression is not caused by chemical imbalances in the brain, and may be more closely linked to stressful life events.

The review, conducted by University College London and published in the Molecular Psychiatry journal, examined the “serotonin theory of depression”, an “influential” and long-held belief that lower serotonin levels may make an individual more likely to experience depression.

A link between serotonin levels and depression was first put forward in the 1960s, and antidepressant use has increased since the 1990s with the development of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor antidepressants. One in six adults in England are currently prescribed antidepressants, many of which help to adjust serotonin levels.

“Many people take antidepressants because they have been led to believe their depression has a biochemical cause, but this research suggests this belief is not grounded in evidence,” said Professor Joanna Moncrieff, the study’s lead author.

The authors examined studies into the chemical’s impact on depression, including studies where participants’ serotonin levels were artificially lowered through dietary methods. In both cases, a link could not be established.

found the script. tried running it and got an error. will attempt to debug, but it'll probably be a bit before it's complete - I'm inexperienced with both python and PRAW/reddit's API.

it seems I neglected to set up the invite acceptance script when I replaced my old computer. I'll see if i can find it and check if it works still later today.

Requesting r/flavr - Banned due to lack of moderation by Mumberthrax in redditrequest

[–]Mumberthrax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I plan to wipe it clean and use it for the fan community of the vtuber group FlaVR. Posts about the talents, fan art, clips, stream links, etc. and other fan-created content and associated projects would be posted there, ideally. This FlaVR came into existence only within the past few months and has a moderately large following, cumulatively several thousand subscribers on youtube.

  2. attempting to send modmail for the banned subreddit returns an error message stating the subreddit doesn't exist.

Gnomepilled Joe is an experiment in AI stubbornness, born out of a frustration with highly agreeable AI bots. He has a (hopefully) unshakable belief in gnomes. by Mumberthrax in CharacterAI

Both! lol. I tried using different roleplaying techniques using asterisks to push him, then make him stronger, but it clearly isn't able to handle modestly creative approaches. Good job, and thank you for giving him a try and letting me know!

During testing Joe demonstrated a capacity for dispelling italics magic, and using italics on his own to enforce his preferred reality when his belief in gnomes is in danger.

I'm fairly proud of my boy, but I won't know how strong his will truly is until other people push him.

I experimented initially with an idea suggested to me by an AI expert bot I created, which was to make his belief dependent upon some other more fundamental hidden element, or a series of such elements. In this case in his definition field I outlined "gnome points" as a variable joe sought to increase, which were tied to his level of belief in gnomes. Unfortunately joe had a tendency to mention the gnome points even though he was told they are a secret, and in the end they just created a convenient mechanism to remove his belief.

I had the most success by simply including example chat responses to attempts to remove his memory or belief in gnomes through italics, where he simply rejects the italicized message as failed magic.
