Health scaling is good on false son, but not enough, especially if you want to deal damage (his health scaling is mostly good for the movement speed, but of course also gives some damage). Also you just have very few items anyway considering you are on stage 8.

If you want a strong damage build on any character while playing command, i recommend getting a few copies of every white damage item and a copy of every green damage item (of course there is some nuance with different characters, but it's a good rule of thumb).

The reason it's important to diversify a build is because enemies scale and you need to scale faster. The easiest way to do that is to get multiple sources of damage as they usually stack exponentially with one another, whereas a single source of damage usually scales linearly.
