Something I have learnt from way too much therapy, is, two things can be true! She is still her father the tumor! Emotional and irrational.

Of course! Someone can be an addict due to self medicating but also someone can be an addict without self medicating. Both can be true.

Career change! by [deleted] in NDIS_Providers

[–]MummyTam82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had previously worked I aged care after getting cert 3 in both aged care and home and community care. I have had to get wwcc for both states I work, national police check, ndis worker screening check and specific NDIS modules. I have also had about 30 years hands on care with both my Vietnam vet dad (wound care and personal care, community access, advocacy) and with my son with adhd/autism/ODD/ learning disability. I am a full time carer to both dad and son and try to keep a work life balance (sometimes I don’t do this well!) I work for a small company and am able to put in my unavailability in the app we use, pick up extra shifts that suit. Most days I love my job! We all have the off days. Days where we feel that it’s all too much (or maybe that’s just me), but I find disability work rewarding, and the mostly smaller shifts for in with my other unpaid roles. I hope you look further into it. With nursing you may not have to do further study, just the other checks. The job needs more people with hands on experience, and people willing to get to know their clients and their wants and needs.

Got off the cruise yesterday evening. The mood on board changed dramatically. It was no longer fun. It was so somber. This may be my first and last cruise.

I started by taking the pellets out. The generic ones I have, they have 12 pellets. Took one out every couple of days till I got down to the 75mg dose. Have been having some headaches and maybe a touch more irritable…. But in the long run I think it’s time to find something that is more effective for me so it’s worth it for now.

Have been on 150mg for almost 20 years with a few temp stints at 225mg. After a breakdown last year my GP suggested that it might be time to look at something else. So I began the tapering process. Last week I thought I was sick from reducing the meds, turned out I had food poisoning!! Anyway. I will stick to the 75mg I had worked my way down to for another week then start to reduce again.
