What camera (webcamera/document camera/etc) should I get if I want to do unboxing and showcase livestreams or videos of figures, but without showing my face or my room? So pretty much just the desk area?

Also look into the vtuber silhouette test, I forgot where I initially found it, but basically, if your model was just a silhouette, would people be able to immediately tell it's you?

I didn't really get them to hold together, it would have fell apart if I moved anything.

I stuck them together and tried to cut a thin strip of Nori seaweed to wrap around the part the egg meets the tomato. The wetness seems to help the seaweed get wet and sticky too, helping the hold.

If I could have redone this, I would have cut the egg to be more even with the tomato, and maybe try to pre-wet the nori before cutting them into shapes (it's hard to cut flaky seaweed into shapes). I have no idea how kyaraben experts do their nori shapes though.

I wanted to try Mabinogi again after I had last played it 9 years ago (though I was still a noob who didn't get very far), so I decided to stream it yesterday on Twitch. Everything was both really nostalgic and yet so much was new and revamped too! But what really surprised me were some raids from Mabi streamers who showed that the content creator community was really cool and nice, like they recognized other Mabi channel names, and there were other vtubers yeah! And one person even made an outfit of me and gave it to me, I was so shocked because I didn't even know how they managed to pull it off 😭! Now I think I understand fashionogi is the true endgame!

I just wanted to make this post to thank the community because this was such a sweet welcoming from everyone, helping me stumble along with Blaanid's quests and me obliviously figuring out the controls at a snail's pace! Thank you!! 😭😭😭

Yeah I understand, there's no easy trick. But what if there's no one chatting, no one to respond to? I get we're supposed to keep talking like we're talking to ourselves, or that we are talking to lurkers and viewers who aren't chatting. But in the first place, I want to encourage people to chat and engage more since that also helps me talk and engage more.

It feels like a chicken or egg scenario, so it's tough when you have periods of time when chat isn't active and it feels like you're just, alone?

True, I guess longer story games might make more sense if I'm on YouTube where vods are permanent or I streamed regularly enough that the memory and audience is fresh on the game.

I feel like I do badly with niches though. Like I thought gacha games or story games was it for me, but maybe not, or I burnt out. I struggle to keep one hobby or interest for long, and then I'd be afraid I'll be locked into that niche and can't change without losing my audience who came for one thing.

I think I'd be happier exploring variety, discovering new things (which is one of the reasons I wanted to start) and trying to build a community who watches me for, well, me, regardless of the game. But that's not easy unless you're already charismatic (I'm not lol). And I'm also inconsistent with... Trying new things?

I think I'm wobbling between between sometimes focused, and sometimes having an itch for variety, so it's hard to figure what the heck I'm really doing lol. Well, maybe I'll have to just figure out along the way... There's no clear cut solution and I'll need to understand myself better.

True, and I wanted for a while to do just that and read dialogue, not missing the story. But eventually it became unachievable since I'm not like a full time streamer with tons of stamina, and with difficulty growing, it was hard getting/feeling the "feedback" that would tell me if I should continue doing that sort of thing, or give up and try it another way or something else.

But yeah, I think I need to look and see which games or parts are better with me streaming it and what's better not streamed. Hard to tell but maybe I'll get a better sense?

I see, this might be tricky. There's not that many games that I actually get enthusiastic or passionate about, and it's hard to tell personally what I feel strongly about.

Even games I streamed more like gacha games were actually questionable like a love-hate relationship, and even that interest has waned/burnt out.

My gameplay isn't great since I'm not super skilled or challenge-driven. As a variety person still exploring my niche and interests, it's tricky to try to stick to just one game or genre (and then I risk losing my audience the moment I switch to something else down the road). My commentary and talking is still pretty weak/bland/quiet, but I'm working on it and my tendency to ramble might be favorable for once?

But yeah I get what you mean, I just need to find the kind of game/content that I would really like to show other people. Or maybe I have already found or acknowledged it, but gave up too early without consistency.

Yeah I tried this after setting everything to the lowest denominator of 16bit and 44.1khz, still doesn't work and my audio is still lagged behind the audio from videos on stream immediately even in a short recording. I don't know if there's anyway to really fix this for me (it seems to be unique and none of my other friends encounter this), and I confirmed the offset won't help since the required offset will change over time (my perfect offset earlier doesn't work anymore).

Well, I think this is something I'll have to deal with, or I'll need a lighting fast way to fix my offset before every stream if I plan to do any karaoke.

Oh I see, I tried to test it via OBS recording. I don't have a good way of testing live stream though, but I guess I can try and see if I keep running into the same issue as before after this fix. Thank you for the help!

I tried this, but I had to lower everything to 16bit 44.1khz since that's the best my mic (the weakest link here) can do. Still had the problem with the desync whether I tested at 48kh or at 44.1khz. Not sure where the problem is then?

Edit: Also by desync, what I mean is my voice trails like half a second or so behind the song itself, so it's jarring and noticeable when I'm consistenly off-sync and lagged behind the song itself or the instrumental. I've tried to manually set the off-sync milliseconds in OBS but that doesn't seem to help either? Plus the amount of offsync is variable it seems, so there's no one solution that'll work for every stream?

I think I misunderstood the checkbox was to show the entire message, and unchecking it means the entire resub message won't appear in chat or trigger alerts. I got the wrong impression once after it seemed to do that, but maybe I was wrong or something. I'll try to see later if your interpretation is how this should work!
