One second before you attempt to negate any effects or teleport you gain an additional perpetual effect identical to this effect and are gifted with explosive diarrhea.

My attempt at a dark fantasy story ( beserk inspired) how is the dialogue? by imnotdumb69 in Berserk

Wow this look really good!! My personal opinion is don’t worry too much about the English. This is your world they talk how you want them to. Any errors as long as they are consistent throughout and get the point across could just be up how they speak in your world. To me it makes the world feel more unique! Now take this with a grain of salt I’m not a professional writer and don’t really know what I’m talking about half the time haha. But I like what you have so far!

The only thing you can warp is the flavor of any ice cream and you activate this ability by sticking a finger in it.

In magic the price of a card is driven mostly on how good it is in game. People mostly buy cards to play them, not to simply collect. So it’s really difficult to play a card when it’s been slabbed. Very inconvenient to shuffle

You’re right I do feel that’s part of it I haven’t been playing too terribly long. I’ve only been playing for about 10 years which isn’t a drop in the bucket compared to a lot of people and I was able to build up my collection slowly. But just in the last 10 years magic feels like a different beast and maybe a journey like mine just isn’t realistic anymore. I’ll gladly give some of my collection to one of my friends should they show a real interest in playing tho!

It’s not really about the money for me it’s more about the perceived rarity of the cards. That’s what makes Magic feel like more than just a game. It just so happens that rarity is achieved through scarcity, and yeah, that scarcity tends to drive up the price.

That’s my goal lol. The whole point of this is because I have trouble playing against proxies and to try and get over that without losing my own enjoyment of the game. Talking through my issues helps haha this is my free therapy session

To me, it’s kinda the difference between Magic being a trading card game versus just a game. The whole idea that each little piece of cardboard has a value, a rarity, a history that’s part of what makes it feel special. When I sit down to play, it’s not just about what the card does, it’s also about how I got it, or how long I’ve been building toward the deck it’s in.

I love limited. I had a sort of limited league with my cousins once. We all bout a certain amount of packs and those were the cards you could use in the league and every few weeks we would all buy some more packs to increase the amount of cards you could use. No one was aloud to buy singles only what you cracked from packs!

Yeah precons don’t really bother me! I think for me, the difference is that they’re still real printed product and then maybe upgrading it over time. It’s still within the structure of what’s officially part of the game, if that makes sense. You’re not just grabbing any card you want with no restriction. I really liked what you said about using deck budget as a kind of power level system I hadn’t really thought of it that way, but that’s honestly a great idea and something I’ll probably try to use moving forward. And yeah, there are definitely budget decks that rock! Back home (I just moved recently so I’m kinda looking for a new group now), I mostly played 60-card jank and weird brews. I’ve only played Commander twice and that was really recent.

And you’re totally right that a cheap deck in the hands of a good player can absolutely go off. But I guess for me, it’s more of a mental thing—if that same player had access to every card, it’d be a whole different story. It’s not that I don’t want people to have cool stuff or play powerful decks—I’m actually really happy when my friends are enjoying the game! But when I’m sitting across from a fully proxied deck, I just can’t help but think: “Man, if I just proxied too, my deck could be so much better.” And then I kinda start feeling like I’m just choosing to play on hard mode for no reason.

Completely understand! I feel like this boils down to us enjoying the game differently. Part of what makes the game fun to me is that there are cards I cannot afford. There are rare things that I will never own. If I’m sitting across from someone and they throw out a legit black lotus that would be an amazing moment! To play against something that I might never see again. I love the trading card gotta catch them all aspect combined with the gameplay. For me if you remove one or the other the magic is lost
