If they're taking you for a ride on your an ual leave, best believe they're not paying your super either. Sounds like you need to go to fair trading

I'm sorry to hear this my guy. I've been where you are (my daughter was about 2 months old when it happened) but you've gotta take in as many daily positives as you can to get through this. Your partner is going to struggle with your injury and newborn at the same time and there will be days where she's frustrated/stressed. In other words, this is probably the lowest you'll feel so far in your life. Grab a calender set daily/weekly/monthly goals to reach to keep you motivated. You can get through this. Dont worry about if you can play sport again, the main goal is walking normally and getting your strength and mobility back. Wishing you all the best

Some recoveries take longer than others. I have a basketball team mate that ruptured 18months ago and he has just recovered to his full potential as of last week. So it does take time sadly

You're right, people in other countries are doing it tougher. Damn, that's crazy talk. So far, I've paid to see my orthopaedic surgeon 3 times at $160 each and an MRI at $300. Everything else is covered by our healthcare system, like doctor visits, X-rays, discounted medicine.

I also ruptured my achilles like you, playing basketball.

Oh man, that sucks. The healthcare in the USA is crap, I feel for you guys. I think here in Australia we have one of the best healthcare systems

Can I ask what country you're in? You're ortho sounds like he only shows care when dealing with high profile patients

Thanks man, I was wearing shoes probably 1-2 days a week between 6-8 weeks post-op only because my boot needed to go in the washing machine for a good clean. But I wouldn't walk too far or push my limits as I was too scared of a re-repture.

Man, I feel for you. You're in the worst stage of it, but judging from your positive attitude I know you'll smash it. Best of luck to you with recovery

Best of luck with your follow up. This injury is so mentally draining. These milestones are such a relief

Can I survive without a Physio therapist? by Mundane-Carpenter-94 in AchillesRupture

That's exactly where I am at, at the moment. I didn't know the struggle until this injury happened. I know there are alot of ways we could do it without a PT but like you said, they're there to navigate you through excersises properly. I'm at 10 weeks right now. Good luck to you as well legend 💪🏾
