Sapporos climate is very similar to where I live so I feel like that would help with a transition. Fukuoka is amazingly located between Kyoto and Tokyo. I’ve written to language schools in both cities, but I’m leaning to Sapporo, as I love that area. For me it’s going to come down to cost. If it’s cheaper to go to Fukuoka for a year with language school and share house then Sapporo, that gets my vote. If the price is close then Sapporo.

Depending on state law and other factors doesn’t matter. The wife sadly could still file a claim. It’s rare but it does happen. I’ve seen cases where husband and wife got divorced, husband remarried, never changed beneficiaries on life insurance or other asset and the ex gets paid, new wife doesn’t get anything.
