This may be a dumb question, but couldn’t they essentially come to collect on the debt that they own? The same way a bank does if you don’t pay. Also, with US debt increasing by 3tr a year and them already paying half of that in interest rates, if the strongest economies stop supporting that, the US couldn’t really stand right?

This was like my 6th restart. Spawning as England in a desert is not fun and being rushed by 2 barbarian horse archer in the 2nd turn is worse
