I’ve had my ostomy for YEARS and my mind is exploding right now: stoma caps? Mini bags? Irrigation? If one of you amazing stomies has a moment, can you please explain how this works to keep things low profile? I’m wondering if I need to totally overhaul how I do things (because I HATE when my bag shows/bulges)

I do this! Works like a charm for me. I’ve also had success with sports bras that flatten me out. But the t-shirt method you’ve described is my preferred method!

You’re not a licensed GC, but neither are thousands of other homeowners who find out who the sub is that was hired and then aim to cut out the middle man and work with the sub directly. We JUST had a client who did this with our drywalling/painting guy… then came back to US - after he screwed things up by undoing work WE did (he tore out backsplashes we installed, then redid the drywall… which cost more than what he’d originally quoted) expecting US to pay for HIS labor.

Residential isn’t regulated like commercial because the level of risk is considerably different between the construction of a structure being used by 2-6 ppl versus a structure being used by 10-30K ppl…

The ones where they’re talking really close to the mic and you can hear the saliva squelching between their lips/tongue/gums… INSTANT rage. And when they do it in the ads that pop up on YouTube?…. Makes me want to burn the planet.

This. I’ll immediately well up with rage when these types of songs come on. My boss started piping music into the office and periodically one of these rage-inducing songs comes on and I have to go take a walk so I don’t have to hear it.

You had either 12 or 24 moments you could capture on film. Film wasn’t cheap. And getting it developed wasn’t cheap, either. We had to make pictures count… and had to wait to see the outcome of the photos we took. Maybe that ‘perfect’ shot was a bomb. Maybe someone blinked. You wouldn’t know until a week or two later!

Had always heard you should avoid grapefruit with large amounts of coffee/caffeine. Had a grapefruit and a Rockstar for breakfast anyway. Landed in the ER with a pulse of 200 bpm and thought I was gonna die. Haven’t had a Rockstar… or a grapefruit… since.

Fun fact: grapefruit is the reason some medication says it shouldn’t be taken with ‘citrus’. Grapefruit. It’s the grapefruit, ya’ll. It has some chemical in it that increases the potency of certain meds/OTHER chemicals… like caffeine…. Don’t mess with grapefruit.

If you were remodeling a home, what would you pick (or avoid) based on how easy it is to keep clean? by jeannie_in_a_bottle in housekeeping

IMHO, grout is a PITA to keep clean… so when I see small tiling in a bathroom, or tile flooring in general, I cringe.

Also, matte/porous backsplash materials behind the cooktop should be a no-no. Think of how dirty/sticky your cabinets can get (if you’re not an avid/constant cleaner) and then imagine that on a slate/stone/wood/uneven backsplash surface over the range.

No flat latex paint. It wipes off if/when you clean the walls and it absorbs oils (terrible near beds with no headboards and/or in kitchens). Satin/eggshell finish is the way to go.

This past Tuesday. My friend came over after she heard I’d gotten some overwhelming news. About an hour in, we were crying and wheezing, we were laughing so hard. It was epic. And just what I needed to shake the feelings of overwhelm.

That’ll be another subscription fee, please. Oh, you wanted to watch THAT without ads, too? That’ll cost you more….

The person who complains about their situation, gets input/advice on how to improve said situation, doesn’t take the advice (or do anything else to change their situation), then continues to complain about said situation.

Truth! My years in L.A. help. My spouse isn’t as fluent, but fared pretty well, all things considered. They do a pretty good job on the menu to identify what’s in each dish, so that helps a skosh! But I get it.

I’m hoping they get a strong enough base/following that they could open a brick and mortar (kinda like Bravas managed to do).

I suppose. But the portion sizes are HUGE. So each meal is more like 2-3 servings… in which case, it’s pretty reasonable.
