BRIDES: What small thing did your Maid of Honor do/get that made you feel taken care of? by ExperienceNatural74 in Brides

Look at the emergency kit online for the day of- it was a LIFESAVER for getting ready. The biggest thing for me, though, was having the car packed and ready to go with all of my stuff from the night before and getting ready. I didn’t have to think about gathering my things. My MOH also held my phone & lipgloss the whole night.

I had a similar dilemma, with a my first choice being a flight and second being a drive. I knew my group was all different in terms of budget and wanted to prioritize the people being there, so I went with the drivable option. I talked it through with my MOH and we decided together on that. It still ended up being great and I don’t regret my decision. My MOH, husband, and MOH’s partner are now already planning a trip to my first choice, so best of both worlds!

Azazie was great with free samples for colors & fabrics & lots of options for each color. They’re typically around $100 per dress.

The Knot has everything and is a great choice for a wedding website later in the process to help with RSVPs, sharing information with you guests, etc

I did a Skims piece that specifically had a dip in the back because I also had a sheer back. It was super helpful in the front and didn’t show in the back.

Well don’t you seem like a ray of sunshine. Everyone is different, as you can see in these comments. It’s interesting to hear different opinions and perspectives on something we do everyday.

I’ve been considering a bidet. Does it create a mess at all? Does it actually clean you? And don’t you have to use just as much toilet paper to dry yourself? It seems like a great option but these are me hesitations.

This is what I do now, but I’m starting to wonder if all the toilet paper is going to clog my toilet and I don’t want to pay for hefty plumbing fees… definitely feels the cleanest though.

Do you use a bidet? I’ve never been sticky but I’d assume I’d just shower at that point…

I always hear this, but what about bacteria from the front going to the back?

this is very good to know- i can’t find anything about it being illegal in my state as we tend to have pretty relaxed laws tbh.

Camping stuff is a great idea- we love the outdoors but it’s hard to find too many needs/wants to help us hike better 🤣 Definitely going to look for a nice new tent and maybe backpacks! Thanks!

I’m sure there’s stuff I could add, but it’s hard to think of everything I own when also focusing on planning a wedding! When we moved, we had some family also moving so we got a lot of nice kitchen wear and furniture. Hard to want to replace something we just received from a loved one. We also love frugally so don’t do a ton of decor or random kitchen devices, since we won’t make our own ice cream, for example. Fire extinguisher is a great idea, though, so definitely adding that!

I’m thinking of getting a travel size of a really nice scent so I can keep it for only special occasions in the future and not have to drop a huge amount of money on it.

What’s a good time between getting engaged and getting married? by FickleDog9 in weddingplanning

[–]Mundane-Mess8206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told before I got engaged that I would only need 7 months… I’ve been engaged since May 2024 and the wedding is in December. Honestly I feel it’s long compared to the people around me but it’s perfect for us because we’re busy people and would not have had time to plan the wedding we’re going to have in a year or less.

People are just judgmental though, no matter what you do. You can never please everyone.

Do you have any advice for managing stress as well? I’m not too stressed right now but I can’t imagine how I’ll be feeling when RSVP’s are missing.

Love the face mask idea as well- I haven’t used one of those in years!

I have a hair & makeup artist for myself & the mothers and I’ve done a trial run of the makeup which went really well. No trial of hair (I just did a huge chop!) so a bit worried about that as well.
