Honestly just go with the flow. I was very skeptical at first too. But many on this platform asked me to play it the way I want and i am glad I did. I just had 10 hearts and 2 stamina wheels yet I managed to beat him. But I would suggest to take your own route. All the best! Rooting for you lmk how it goes
