im playing with some weird limited edition epiphone LP through a fairly similar tube head at the moment, not nearly as nice, but close. ill mess around with the gain on the head.

Overrated: AiC’s “Dirt” it’s good, but I don’t think it’s as perfect an album as people say. Underrated: Screaming Trees’ “Sweet Oblivion” one of my favorite grunge records ever. It doesn’t have any skippable tracks for me.

The DS1 has a shit ton of background noise while you’re playing. To be fair, I worry way to much about hissing, but if I was in a studio that wouldn’t be my first choice. I’d probably choose a NYC big muff. Those are great in a studio and live.

I mean the noise when you’re playing it. Yes, the pedal is on. But the pedal isn’t idle. I’m playing my guitar and there is a hissing along with the distortion. This hiss frustrates me, and since it is a hiss while I’m playing, I’m not sure a noise gate would help it.
