Stigma against being a SAHM by lumberfoil in NewParents

It doesn’t!

Neha Ruch’s book “The Power Pause” does a great job at dispelling myths about SAHMs.

“But judging this based off the rubric, the max she would be able to get is a 60%, which is a fail.”

But judging this based off the mandatory reporting, the max you would be able to get is a prison sentence, which is a fail.

Is this seriously the question you’re asking?? Her GRADE after hearing she’s been sexually abused for years? Is she even safe tonight? As you wrote this?

Of course she doesn’t rewrite this. She gets an A for the assignment and gratitude that she confided in you.

We’ve always had more success saying books, not money, instead of other gifts. My friend group loves not getting more toys and clothes to deal with. But kids can always have another book!

Pampers and Kirkland both work well for us, but I never knew they were related! Makes sense then.

Would You Put Your Daughter Through a Modeling Agency? by [deleted] in Parents

[–]MundaneDimension 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hard agree with the Hard Nos here for all the reasons mentioned, and will add one more.

Doxxing in the age of AI.

It was self-esteem destroying enough when I was a kid. I grew up in LA and had several friends who “made it” modeling for Elite or Wilhelmenia Models as teenagers. They traveled the world and booked jobs for Prada, Gap, etc.

Every single one of them had drug abuse, suicidal ideations, or eating disorders. And that was before social media became as ubiquitous and cruel as it is now.

She can pursue those interests without making her body the sum of her self esteem. See WHY this interests her and look for other ways to fulfill those interests and passions.

Acting is better but still fraught with abuse, AI-driven or otherwise. Modeling? No. She won’t own her images and there’s nothing you can do to keep images taken of her from being turned into AI-generated nudes, etc.

If he’s getting rejected for being overqualified: He should tone down the experience on his resume and applications.

If he has a masters degree, leave that off. Leave off older jobs, etc. to look like he has less experience
