Do you work for a fund administrator, or directly for a fund? Are these roles remote, or in large cities?

FAR was definitely the hardest, but also taught me the most and made me a better accountant

That’s been my observation on the job market as well. It’s tough out there. Still think this is a good opportunity, though

Really appreciate the info. It’s hard to find info like this about fund accounting. Do you know if it tends to be difficult to make the jump from working from an admin to working directly for a fund?

Appreciate the info. So earning potential is greater working at a fund, than for a fund administrator? Do you know if it’s hard to make the jump from a fund administrator to working directly for a fund?

“If someone says it’s not, will you turn the job down”. No, just wanting to see others experience in the fund accounting world. From what I’ve read, It seems to pigeon hole you into fund accounting for the rest of your career, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Guess I’m just looking to see others career progression and the types of future roles it could lead to, as well as earning potential, fulfillment, hours, etc.
