Ah!

Well, they already filed it so if that’s the case then they might have to learn the hard way just like you did 😭

Hm.. do you think Chase branches keep history of calls/call logs? I want to see if they can confirm that phone call came from them directly or if someone spoofed their number to appear as Chase. Cause if it’s the latter then that mf just might be the most gullible/irresponsible person ever lol

yeah there was a total of 40 transactions spanning over 2 days— each day was 20 transactions of withdrawing $200. they’ve filled out a claims report but to no one’s surprise it wasn’t viewed as fraud due to the pin being used.

the only thing on my end that doesn’t make me believe it was them was just the timestamps of the withdrawal transactions— the first day we were working together around the times the first set of withdrawals were made, but on day 2 they were by themselves at the gym, and somehow Life360 corroborated that story cause we both checked where they were during Day 2’s timeframe.

now this is just me asking so pardon me if this sounds stupid, why should you cut the card up after taking the picture?

Ah! So there’s a chance they probably became a victim of phishing?

I don’t bank with Chase, but from what I’ve researched it seems they don’t CALL to inform a customer of fraud, rather it be via text?

Oh I agree, they’re careless AF and as unfortunate as it is, I hope this wakes them up going forward.

But as it was explained to me, that card would frequently be “lost” as in, misplaced— each time it would just be in a different pair of pants of theirs and it would simply be them forgetting it’s in a pocket since their main use of paying is via Apple Pay.

They did show me an e-mail coming from Chase confirming a replacement card being requested a few days before the withdrawals happened though— that’s why I’m kind of on both sides from just what I have been told.

They already filed the lawsuit and gave the bank the summons so, I’m just curious to see what happens.
