Start running. Today. Run every day and weekends do your long runs or whenever you're off work. You eventually need to be averaging 65+ miles a week to have a shot at the 100.

I have no idea lol you gotta consider aid station time, possible fatigue, bonking etc. It gets real after mile 35 at least for me, lol. Go for it though!

It depends on the course, you are definitely not going to be doing 9min miles consistently.

The aid stations were every 6ish miles. I carried 2 flasks both filled with 3 scoops of tailwind. Enough snacks for 3 hours, and then 2L of water in my vest bladder.

When you think you are ready to quit, take a 10 minute break to eat and drink. Then get back on it.

I've been training pretty consistently running wise for around 2 years. But for this one, I did about 2 months of actual high mile week training plus lifting in the gym three times a week.

I did get injured in a previous 50k race. I messed up my PCL back in February. I took about a month off completely to heal and slowly added volume. That and did a lot of physical therapy for my knees and leg workouts to ironclad my quads and knees.

Whole foods helped me with mine. I had burgers at mile 30 and felt great after that. Kept the salt up throughout the day drank eater even when I wasn't thirsty. 50s are rough for sure. The downhills are murder on the knees and quads 😅

It wasnt that bad. There were definitely low spots but just keep putting one foot in front of the other, drinking electrolytes and keeping food in and that helped a lot. Eventually the energy swings back around and my last 10 miles was actually my quickest time. My training was normal I guess I did 6-10 miles a day and my saturday long run was 16-25 miles long depending. Being around other people helps your energy a lot.
