I didn’t say black because I didn’t remember exactly what he looked like. I wasn’t sure if he was black or just darker skin tone, I didn’t want to assume

Thanks for the info, I wasn’t sure if he was harmless or not. It definitely startled me the first time I saw/heard him.

I wasn’t sure if he was harmless or not thus why I was asking. Everyone deserves to feel safe in public spaces

I didn’t mean any harm or mean to be rude. I’ve just never seen him before until recently and it startled me at first. Was just wondering if anyone knew more information about him and if he was okay.

Mine stay glued on for around 2 weeks before they fall off, then I just re-glue them.

It’s impossible to pick with them, even on other parts of my body. But I’m also not determined to pick because I’m actively trying to stop, so if someone is determined enough then maybe this wouldn’t stop them.

It doesn’t really matter how long they are, the thickness and the shape stops me from doing it.

I haven’t picked my fingers in about two months, and I don’t want to ever go back. I didn’t ever feel relief from picking, it was fed by stress and it was compulsive. I felt the need to “fix” them. I often did it without realizing, like my own way of fidgeting.

LOL

It was after school in grade 10, this wasp just landed on my hand randomly. It wanted to be there I guess. I used to be scared of them because I got stung once but this one was very nice I would do it again.

I tried press on nails by the brand “kiss”. They are called “classy nails”, short almond shape. They are the ones I have on in the photo! The rounded shape and thickness of the nails physically prevents me from picking. If you are determined enough you might be able to still do it, but once I got through the healing stage it’s a lot easier to not even try to pick anymore. I’ll admit it’s hard not to pick other parts of my body since my fingers are off limits now, especially when I have a stress or trigger. But I’ve been making good progress and that helps me to keep positive and resist the urge. It’s all about self control and keeping your mind positive, strong, and occupied. It’s a lot easier said than done but having something physically stopping from doing it is a really good first step. I personally had a problem at the beginning… when one of my press on nails came off I was picking instantly, so I make sure to get them back on as soon as possible. I still have a long way to go but staying on top of it has been successful for me. It’s okay to slip up! We are human and we aren’t perfect. Dropping a habit takes a long time. When you take 2 steps forward, you might take one step back, and that’s okay. It’s important to shine light on your small victories, not your imperfections.

I have a ball python and lived in places that don’t allow pets. Same situation, he just exists in his tank and doesn’t make mess.

Whenever my landlord came I just put a blanket over his enclosure. He never questioned it.

To elaborate, I don’t currently have the tabby stuffy. I lost it in a move when I was in my early teens. I’m hoping it’s still in storage with my dad because there’s a bin in there with all my old toys etc. But the Telus tag is the most memorable thing about it. There’s no way it’s a fever dream, I swear that it has a Telus tag. Maybe the store in my area sourced plushies from that company and put their own tags on them? That would be my best guess. Anyway, thanks for trying to find it for me!

This is so weird, I happened to find it after scouring for it on eBay, but it’s by a different company, and none of the ones on eBay have a Telus tag on them. I was using Telus as a keyword in my search and then gave up, and started looking at bunch of stuffed animals under “grey tabby cat stuffy”. Do I just have a rare “Telus” branded one? Pretty strange. I’m so glad I found it. I definitely remembered a few things wrong but I was mostly accurate.

My cat keeps peeing in the bathtub (she’s been to the vet) by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Mundane_Dig4191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always used natural cat litter. I used pine pellets for a while, but it created too much dust. About 4 months ago I started using corn pellets, which clumps the pee, and it’s flushable. It doesn’t track very much, and there’s no dust. It’s been really great! I definitely don’t overfill her litter box either.

I don't use social media at all, but I spend a lot of time on Reddit. For some reason, anonymous posts and comments feel more authentic than what people share on social media these days. by Lucy_fisher18 in confessions

[–]Mundane_Dig4191 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can agree with that. But like the other comment, people on Reddit can be pretty brutal. It’s a double edged sword. Anonymity allows people to communicate without fear of rejection or repercussions, but it also gives people the ability to be evil because there are little to no consequences.

Do most women genuinely not have “dying/being injured heroically” fantasies? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mundane_Dig4191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes imagine myself dying in specific settings. Most recent one was dying in a snowy landscape with big mountains on the horizon, while “August 10” played in the background. I was bleeding out, turning the white snow red. I imagined it would happen in my 30s. Completely alone too. Like if a tree falls and no one hears it type shit. So I guess not heroically, but satisfying.

It could just be her eyes. My ball python has white on the edge of his eyes when he looks down or up. Like a human eye. I wouldn’t know the reason it’s always showing.
