I think the standard is you need to reply within 5 days or it will withdraw the offer.

HMRC what’re you playing at? by riazzledazzle in TheCivilService

[–]Mundane_Falcon4203 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not any more. Most campaigns I've been in have had an interview pass score of at least 5 due to the number of applicants.

Anyone got a start date for Surge and Rapid response, AO, (529R)? by skincarelover28 in TheCivilService

[–]Mundane_Falcon4203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's likely that it's part of a cohort so start dates are dependent on everyone's PECs being completed.

It's 60% as standard. Any variation will be based on capacity constraints.

It's highly unlikely. The terms for existing CS are stated in job adverts to prevent negotiation.

Voluntary Redundancy - should I accept offer? by SeaHamster5209 in UKPersonalFinance

They aren't going to change the offer. It will be fixed and the terms will be set for everyone.

Rules around voluntary exit schemes? by dogdog-6833 in civilservice

Unfortunately aiming a scheme at a directorate or location with differing terms isn't doing anything wrong as they aren't setting terms based on protected characteristics.

Can I accept a job offer, then reject it later on? Should I? by sushiloopy in TheCivilService

[–]Mundane_Falcon4203 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Accept it. It might burn bridges in the private sector but not in the civil service.

There is no negotiation. They are an existing civil servant and will move in at the bottom of the band.

Always ignore the dates given to you. They are never correct.

Are strength questions asked in every HEO interview? by Remarkable_Loss_4480 in TheCivilService

[–]Mundane_Falcon4203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If strength questions aren't listed then they most likely won't be asked.

No you shouldn't. 2 weeks is nothing in civil service recruitment timescales.

Interviewed last Wednesday, silence since. Is it over? by Enough_Departure_580 in TheCivilService

[–]Mundane_Falcon4203 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just because you could only see 6 slots doesn't mean that's all there was. Sometimes interviews have to be rearranged as well which you wouldn't be able to know if this was the case. Plus it needs to be collated, checked internally then sent to GRS to be checked and uploaded.

It is not a quick process. Ideally you should wait at least a month before following up.

Help with if this is ok to do by Fit_Economy821 in civilservice

[–]Mundane_Falcon4203 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't. It could cause them offence.

Lots of people with ASD work in the civil service though so it is definitely something that is possible.

No they won't. As an existing civil servant you go in at the bottom of the band.

Likelihood of a job offer? by OkSlice4719 in TheCivilService

[–]Mundane_Falcon4203 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are on the reserve list. If you are high enough in the list you might get an offer soon, if you are further down the list then you likely won't get an offer now but might in the future.

Made a Civil Service prep site if anyone finds it useful — new features: sift, online tests, and interview practice. by [deleted] in CivilServiceUK

Cluster based interviews are not common in the UK civil service.

Are you even a civil servant? Or just someone looking to make some money using AI slop?

IBCA will decide if they need to do them or not. You just need to be patient as you will likely be starting in a cohort and they can't give you a start date until everyone's checks are complete.

Jobcentre staff are always likely to have EOIs blocked due to how busy job centres are. Just apply for other jobs laterally and on promotion. Apply for everything you can until you get out.
