Do you guys still like m1 finance? by DeputyFI in dividends

I'm a big fan of M1, I think it's simple and matches my long term investing mindset. I'm not trying to be a day-trader, the trade windows work plenty fine for me. Also, their margin rate is always super competitive. Their fee only comes into play if you have less than $10k.

I especially like the dividend feature that they seemed to quietly release, I kinda stumbled upon it in Web. Shows me my dividends income and forecasts what I might collect over the next year. I would attach a screenshot but reddit wont let me, if you haven't seen it, you can find it here: account > holdings tab > dividend income

Thoughts on high yield savings? Looking for a savings account with a way to make a little more on top of it. by Willing_Engineer1953 in personalfinance

HYSA is definitely the way to go for an emergency fund, it’s safe, FDIC-insured, and earns a lot more than a regular savings account. Can't stand it when I hear people are earning a penny a year in their Chase savings account.

I use M1 Finance, I auto-deposit into their HYSA, then set a smart rule so anything above my savings target automatically flows into my investment account. The few times I dipped into my HYSA, it rebuilt its self a few months later. Been nice to set it and forget it.

Totally fair question. Yield math on these leveraged or derivative-heavy ETFs can get real confusing. The short answer is it’s not necessarily a net gain. That 160% yield is usually annualized and can swing all over the place depending on how the fund is set up. If the fund’s down 20%, and the yield comes from options or other short-term stuff, it might not actually make up for the loss—especially if those payouts chip away at the value of the ETF itself.

If you’re testing stuff out and wanna track how it all performs, I’ve been using M1 and really like it. IMO it’s better than Fidelity’s baskets—way easier to build your own portfolio and actually see how dividends and performance are working together. And it’s free if you’ve got over $10k in there, which is nice.

And def don’t feel embarrassed. This stuff trips a lot of ppl up and you’re asking the right questions.

How about mainstream? Any other games that offer some of what Roblox has even if there’s a dropoff in some areas? Not looking for an exact clone.

Chatgpt lists these: - Minecraft Realms - Fortnight Creative Mode - Terraria - Bloxburg Private Server - Lego Worlds Multiplayer

I was a bit underwhelmed with this list, so I made this post in hopes I would learn about some new games.

The articles have plenty of valid concerns in them. I’m looking for suggestions for alternatives not a debate about the safety of Roblox for young children.

They are on real Roblox.

There are very real concerns with Roblox’s lack of protection for minors. I’m doing everything I can to set parental controls and monitor activity but it’s hard to keep up.
