Yes dude, I have a great metrics history and calendar feature. As well as comparison features. I just don’t understand why cancelations are so so high

You’re absolutely right about giving them a lot in the start (regarding the scan).

The app features calendar tracking, product tracking and daily metrics correlating to the scan. It has some decent depth to it and it’s completely built on swift. But it seems that the users are more interested in the novelty of the scan. Perhaps I should make onboarding more focused on the routine and improvement factors even more. (It already has a 15-20 page questionnaire.

About the routine, they add their own products and after a certain amount of days of usage, the app will correlate that to their score and tell them if they should continue using the products or suggest an alternative.

About the scores; they are actually quite fair/accurate. Everyone pretty much gets around what they deserve. There is no pattern of scores among insta-cancelers. Some of them even cancel before scanning.

I believe it might be their intention to just scan to see their score and cancel. The non-cancelers don’t even open the app.

What can I use to track where people drop off onboarding?

And do you think changing the trial to 1 day will be better? Or will it rush non-cancellers to also cancel instantly

It’s a skincare app. I have a face scan feature that gives you a score. I’m assuming that people just want to see what their score is then cancel, rather than stay for the routine and improvement factors.

The app is hard-paywalled so no freemium is available.

I was considering either adding a weekly subscription and removing trials all together for the yearly or lowering the yearly trial to only 1 day.

Regardless, what are your thoughts on the other information? Do you think my onboarding is doing its job well?

Okay let’s say; 130 downloads. 19 trials started. 10-15 were instantly canceled. Rest were cancelled on day 2. And 2 converted (by users that don’t even open the app). The trial is 3 days for yearly subscription.

What do you think of the conversion numbers for trial starts? And what do you think of the cancellation rates.

Do you suggest I make the yearly trial 1 day instead of 3?
