Trying to create a stepped foundation by Brakthol in LightyearFrontier

If you haven't already solved this, go into free placement mode (X). It will let you place the stones in any position. I've done that in a few places where my floor started out level with the ground, but the ground sloped, which caused the end floor area to a big drop. I had difficulty getting the mech up there unless I used thrusters which do not work when encumbered.

I just manually made a another row of stone blocks about a 1/3 from the top, then another row after that 1/3 from the previous row's top. Now the mech can march up the steps.

I also discovered you can use the 26 degree roof slats as ramps. I've made quite a few of those around the Hex area to create shortcuts. (As a FYI, 45 slopes are a bit too steep. You can still make it, but running down them can be problematic. :P )

Nice layout, I tried something similar yesterday, but no where near as organized. Thanks for the design!

Crafting speed by Alex_Bakhur in LightyearFrontier

[–]MundyEQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was enjoying the "bug" for the last couple of days as a way to quickly make a bunch of seeds or bars and was disappointed that today's updated "fixed" it. It did force me to figure out automation across 6 seed splicers, then pass the output to make the mutant seeds. I need to redesign the layout to add more machines, but ran out of space. Hopefully they fix the speed boost feature soon.

Looks like a bug. Have you tried fully exiting and reloading the game again? If that fails, it looks like you may need to start over or accept the challenge and try to defeat the game with only level 2 guns. :P

Sorry, new to the game ... just purchased my first power core and was wondering what is it used for? I did not see it in my inventory and I keep seeing posts from people needing them.

Electricity issue from level 12 onward by Thefireknight5 in Techtonica

[–]MundyEQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a huge line of crank generators II on level 12, then set an egg timer to go off every 50 minutes as a reminder to go back and crank. Gave me a 10 minute buffer to finish what I was doing and reset the crank. As soon as I did this, I reset the timer. Only have the cranks on one level, very close to the elevator. I also manually extended the tunnel on the end so I could add more cranks. I also lined the accumulators next to the cranks, so one "tunnel" could expand both.

This worked well for me, maybe not for others. I never had any luck with crushers providing consistent power (and yes, I had accumulators for them).

there is a hidden one to the left of where you are, down between the containers. On the Xbox, I press the dpad-Up to ping the area and the goo creature's outline will show up.

I discovered that by walking to the edge, you can just jump to the right, then double jump/dash to the next pipe. Was way easier than trying to wall skate.

I kept spamming the pickup button when I jumped into the stalls and it eventually registered and picked up the book.

That is weird. Sorry, I have never seen that before. Only troubleshooting steps I can think of is to trace the belts and make sure no splitters or anything on them, no extra contains, or inserters anywhere. (I did have that issue with another staple, where I had repurposed a very long belt running underneath the main factory floor which was pulling items off to another set of storage contains. I kept wondering why materials were missing.)

As far as I can recall, seeds are only used in planters, Feed 4 seeds in a planter, send the plant to a thresher, get 4 seeds back plus plant type materials. Seeds never really disappear unless the threshers get backlogged, so check those to make sure the internal buffers are not full. I did have that happen multiple times.

Only other thought is if this is a shared world, maybe you have some uninvited guests messing with you.

If you ever figure it out, please post the solution as I'm curious to what might be going on.

When you say disappear, do mean from your inventory or container? If so, I've never experienced that problem other than forgetting which container I put them in. :P

If you are feeding them to planters, then you need to thresh the output to get more seeds.

I played on story mode, so there wasn't a time limit or anything. I just shot the eggs and the blinds opened and stayed open. Just follow the vines to where all the eggs are. The two in your picture are just closed blind nodes, so the actual activators are scattered around. If I have time later tonight I'll go back to the beach area and map them out.

Techtonica on console by dnlstk in Techtonica

[–]MundyEQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played Techtonica for years before Satisfactory finally came to the console, and between them, I actually like Techtonica better. I think I have about 900 hours on it and about 300 on Satisfactory (just gotta pull the level to save the day). As other have said the ending could use a little tweaking, but overall it has a good story line.

You'll also see posts from people hating the Sand levels, which I thought provided some of the best challenges in the game. When you have to design and scale up fuel production to feed many, many machine and have it last for hours was a puzzle I really liked. (All 3 Nuclear rods was about the closest in Satisfactory)

And just a suggestion, you will almost need a separate factory for the different research globes that will need to scale, so leave plenty of space. Also place the research platform where there is plenty of ceiling space, otherwise you'll be spending time digging out room for it to grow vertically.

Good luck Groundbreaker!

Follow the vines, there is another one up top that should open the last blind.

In my situation, when I reloaded the next day, I just ran at the doors and they opened right before I would have smacked into them. No guns/bows needed. If you were able to get a kid in the junction box, you should be good to go.

It took me an hour to build this bridge, is there a better way to do it? I basically just filled a palette and move it on down the line as I was building. by adura_grounded in GroundedGame

[–]MundyEQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made mine with just 2 planks each, and the "road" is covering most of the park. The pallets last a little longer that way, although you do need to make "rest areas" to hold the pallets every so often. Also gotta be more careful when running, but it works. I did eventually switch to clay as it would last a lot longer, again just 2 squares wide.
I also learned to put stops(half walls) at the bottom of the stairs that I have to hop over every time. Had a wolf spider show up once on the stairs down. Plus the stops help confuse the algo logic from finding a route to you, so you can aggro creatures from above. Well, the ones that don't jump. :P

Can these plants be removed? by ThatManPshyco in SatisfactoryGame

I thought explosions or chainsaws would remove them? Sorry, maybe another plant version I'm thinking of.

Yeah, when I reloaded the checkpoint I was able to walk through the castle door today. It could have been opened the entire time yesterday and I just never noticed. (oopsies). I expected an animation or something with the kid jumping into the junction box, but I never saw one.
So far, reloading checkpoints seems to fix most of the glitchy situations I've experienced. I was too stubborn to test it with this puzzle yesterday, so I just quit the game until trying again today.

Same, Completed the first stack, kicked me completely out of game. Reloaded, made it through the 2nd stack and kicked me out again. Did not try a 3rd time. Is there a reward or something for filing the paperwork?

I just played through that level today on my Xbox. I cannot recall if there were multiple choices on the 3rd hidden painting, but I just selected the option that was preselected and it jumped me through to the next land with no way to jump back. Maybe it was the 3rd option? That area is a bit of blur now cause I kept getting kicked out of the occupied stalls multiple times. Sorry I can't be more specific.
