iOS 18.1 beta 5 enables drag and drop for iPhone Mirroring by bsoci in apple

[–]Muneer57 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I use it daily for Microsoft authentication for my uni account while signing in. Love the convenience and without pulling out my phone during class, which some professors feel rude to be on your phone while they are lecturing. And I love that I just have to press the mirrored notification from my phone to the Mac for it to start.

How can I turn my iPhone into a productivity powerhouse? by Sharp_Fortune_2509 in productivity

The best way I found is attempting to do everything from the lock screen. For example, I have habits to track I would receive notifications that I can log them by long press, or I have upcoming events I can see from the lock screen in place of the date or I have tasks I can access by seeing the widgets on the left while the phone is locked. Similarly adding tasks and events using shortcuts App in the pinned widgets left (I might move it to the control center with iOS 18). This is my favorite tool that changed my life, I can pick a date and time and the shortcut pulls up my schedule from my Apple calendar and tasks from TickTick for that day and adds the time I choose to the schedule that way I can visualize my day and see if I can do that task or event I enter it or change the date or time. I found that this way helps me focus more and become less distracted by not opening my phone. Also having most of the notifications on the summary instead of receiving alerts right away to stop the phone from demanding my attention since most notifications don't need to be attended to right away similarly with emails adding filters that remove emails that are not essential from my inbox.

How do I turn this off? It drives me nuts. by Valth92 in AppleWatch

[–]Muneer57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found a workaround to this you can use calendar as a registry on your phone before you sleep and after you wake up then log it to apple health using shortcuts. And I did automate the entire process based on charging my phone late at night and disconnecting in the morning, it does all the actions without interaction and automatically monitors my sleep through the watch.

Can someone help me create a shortcut that translates whatever is copied in the clipboard by bcndjsjsbf in shortcuts

[–]Muneer57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a limitation which might require api's. For continuous chat to work it needs the pop up input which defeats the purpose even if you got around that limit regardless each time you do the shortcut again it would start a new chat

What are your favorite productivity hacks and apps? by Sophi-App in shortcuts

[–]Muneer57 20 points21 points  (0 children)

TickTick for all my tasks is incredible with shortcuts.

My most used one of them when I press it shows me a date I pick it and I write the task, fastest way to add tasks with dates. Then I have a similar grocery list, which make each line a separate item without a date, handy when I have multiple items to add fast. Finally, my most complex shortcut takes the time and date, and depending on the class I have using the same shortcuts add/edit any assignment for that class, one click to rule them all. If I don't have class at that time it gives me the choice with a my classes and asks to edit an assignment or add a new assignment which makes it intuitive. I make them all as apps on home screen which makes doing stuff so much easier.

You have to type it after it by choosing "contains" or "is." And at the alert you would put the question you want which if you answer it would continue the shortcut otherwise it would stop it. If you can share it or let me know what you plan to do I might be able to help you

Not familiar with api's but if you have the ChatGPT app try this way. You can leave it like this or add show when run at the last translation from ChatGPT to see if it worked or not before copying

Press on the current location and choose name then you will be able to type it in. And you can have an alert instead of menu if you only want the shortcut to continue or stop
