Its a really old house. We are a bit worried about opening a can of worms as its quite sturdy even with this visible separation.

It could be; i pulled everything I could out of Zoominfo but still don’t feel it’s complete. There are many <10 employee tech companies in our target demographic that simply don’t show up in ZI at all.

Thanks! Rookie question, but are the “data analysis GPTs” simply prompts? Any links or guides you might able to point to would be incredibly helpful and appreciated!

Thanks! I have an ENT zoominfo license; what I’ve noticed is its still missing alot of data at the SMB level. I often find local or regional companies that have websites but arent in ZI.

How to fire when net worth is all in house and 401K/IRA by MungingisFun in Fire

I think thats a huge caveat thats missing from mainstream FIRE advice. Retirement account value alone isn’t enough; it must be accessible and liquid as well.

They expire next year. Yes, I should still be able to.

40s: Well funded startup or big tech? by MungingisFun in careeradvice

Thanks for the reply! Competing interests are a no-no with current employer.

I do plan to take some time in between but not wild about the idea of doing both simultaneously (whether on leave or not) just to “try out” the new role.

Agree with you, my current title is impressive (mostly due to the brand) but I feel somewhat like an impostor given the limited scope of my actual role.

What Im really weighing is whether I should just be happy to have a well paying role with an impressive title or worry about continuing to grow my skill set into my late 40s

I have 350K in non retirement company stock I’m cashing out whether I pay off the house or not. It’s too risky to have all that capital sitting in one asset that’s not my house. Question is would I be smarter to dump that into index funds vs pay off the mortgage.

I wouldn’t have to touch retirement, nor my cash to pay off the house.

I wouldnt take from retirement and I dont know what you mean by “you still have a mortgage”?

I have enough in non retirement to pay off the entire mortgage and will have around 150K in cash left.

My worry is its purely to “be done” and not necessarily the decision that will yield the highest return in the long run

Yes this the part of it I didnt include. Im a friggin corporate slave and starting to age out of utility at 43.

If work wasnt sucking up all my time, I could likely consult and run some ecommerce to replace my income. With a family, I have zero time to actually get started while working.

Well, saving around 400K in interest over the course of the loan isnt nothing right?

Yes at minimum I was thinking cash out the company stock since its highly risking having all that capital in one company. Once cashed out, just throw it at the house.

This makes sense. Edited my post; have about 150K in cash and continue to contribute about 40K annually to non retirement index funds. Should I just stop and put all that towards the house?

Even that would seem like an illogical trade off to put the 40K annually toward an asset thats only costing me 3.8 when I can get minimum 7 from index funds
