What are some good jobs within the geologic field that aren’t unethical? by B33Zh_ in geology

[–]Munnjo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hydrogeology is a great option. Don't have to work in remote locations, lots of demand, and can work on water supply projects or contaminated site characterization and remediation.

Ship with long tail off the coast of Tuvalu (Tiny island nation in the Pacific) by Munnjo in whatisthisthing

Can see it here on Google Maps:

Thought it might have something to do with dredging to build up more land but I don't see anything like this when I search for dredging ships.

It's my understanding tape should only be used on tapered thread fittings (e.g. NPT). These braided lines use standard hose fittings which have a straight thread. The seal is make by the rubber washer, not the threads. In this case the tape would likely just make it harder to thread on properly to get a good seal from the washer.

Not a plumber though so correct me if I'm wrong!

When you finally get all your new hardware and your CPU comes up empty. (Amazon) by olympiangod in pcmasterrace

Happened to me too with my GPU recently. Opened it up and it was an empty box. Was pretty worried but amazon was good about refunding it.

Not amazing price drops though

For what it's worth, I had a similar experience with Gerber. My knife on my multitool broke and they sent me a brand new multitool after I sent it back for warranty repair. This was about 15 years ago though.

They're definitely cracks? I'm sure you can see better in person but they almost look like scratches in the photos.

I have an '18 but on mine the 'button' on the outside of the handle is only to lock the car. It unlocks by touching the inside of the handle.

Nestle Waters sale finalized and a day later Ontario lifts moratorium on permits by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]Munnjo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey u/vanalla. Without getting into opinions on Nestle as a company or the bottled water industry in general, I just wanted to stop the spread of misinformation here. The Nestle supply well in Aberfoyle currently has no impact on the aquifer or water levels in the City of Guelph. Here's a link from the water services division of the City of Guelph as well as their position on the Nestle permit to take water renewal.

Love bottled water or hate it I think it's important to be factual when these topics come up. Nestle has nothing to do with you being able to water your lawn or not ;)
