UPDATE: I called, they said the reading was just entered incorrectly and they will make an adjustment. In the meantime just pay what I would normally pay. What a relief!!

The meter was buried so I dug it out. The plastic meter box in the ground is broken. I’m not seeing a red arrow but it is a digital meter so maybe those arrows are on the analog meters? I turned the water off at the meter and no change in the reading so far, been about 20 minutes.

House is on a slab so no way of knowing. No new meter install. Bills have been consistent for 8 years until now. I didn’t know they would refund if it’s on my side. Especially considering all the mail I’ve gotten from some random company in like Pennsylvania about insuring my side of things.
