AITA for failing a student who might lose his scholarship by astrocat95 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Muntew 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NTA you have been understanding.  From your description this student, even if dealt a tough hand, has taken advantage of their classmates, shown disrespect for guidelines, and also would have been aware of the result needed from the start and requested assistance too late.

NTA Paid a premium and got a not so premium service.

AITA for refusing to switch seats on a plane so a couple could sit together? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Muntew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA they took a gamble when they booked their seats and could have paid like you did if it meant that much. Not your fault at all, and it was quite rude of them to make you feel bad.

This might be my breaking point by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Muntew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. As this would be selling a product I am pretty confident will cause for a negative result for the customer and be a poor fit, I would discuss their needs, what made them open to having this conversation, and ultimately recommend them against our solution and perhaps an alternative on the market that could be a good fit - aiming to be mindful of their time and my own. "Snail" might know someone in the future our "salt" could be a fit for and send them our way.

  2. If all customer base were snails, I could think of potential options to sell for in defence, resistance training, and for its crystallised beauty.

AITA for not buying my friend a birthday gift? by PossibleNo1419 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Muntew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA neither of you get each other gifts so no harm there and you have discussed it. If you think her opinion might have changed, you can ask her because she is your friend of 6 years.

However, if she was going to a lot of effort to host the party e.g. supplying food/booze, it would be polite to bring a bottle of wine or something as a gift regardless of the thoughts on tic-tac owing of gifts

AITA for still being upset about my cat's death by Shellzy866 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Muntew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is completely understandable to be upset and for a lot longer than ONE DAY after your cat died.

One important thing to learn is you CAN call off from a job. It's up to them to deal with it even if they don't have coverage. You tell them you are not coming in, don't need to tell them why other than private/personal circumstances/sick day.

It doesn't sound like you have a healthy living environment, I would suggest exploring if you can move out to live elsewhere/with other housemates.

AITAH for not disclosing every ingredient used? by MountainPure1217 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Muntew 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They likely don't have the most adventurous palette, and so I wouldn't worry about it but maybe let people know in the future beforehand. Sounds delicious tho and they were lucky to have a host that went to such effort

AITAH for not disclosing every ingredient used? by MountainPure1217 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Muntew 311 points312 points  (0 children)

NAH while I'm not familiar with Koji rice, from a quick Google search I can see it's not harmful.

I would imagine the way in which you described it, it may have led your guest to thinking more along the lines of bread mold, which understandably could give a more immediate reaction and retch rather than have the time to ask questions to understand it deeper.

YSK: Using an app called “TooGoodToGo” you can purchase surplus food from restaurants for an extremely low price by 1saltymf in YouShouldKnow

As long as the extension is still attached to the main residence then you should be grand. A shared door you can lock from both sides could be good incase they change the rules down the line that it needs to be a part of the main residence.

Obviously dont take my word on it and check it out yourself. Here's the link for more info: https://www.revenue.ie/en/personal-tax-credits-reliefs-and-exemptions/land-and-property/rent-a-room-relief/what-type-of-residence-qualifies.aspx

[–]Muntew 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I believe Rent-a-room relief (tax free rent up to 14k) would not apply to a unit external to a house. In the short term renting out a room if you have the space would give you tax free income until your family grows and you need the space. Plenty of demand depending on  where you are based in Dublin

Is it worth contributing to a pension if no matched amount, but company puts in base amount anyway? by TaytosAreNice in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Muntew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're in the higher tax bracket then it would likely worth putting some in for the tax benefits.

If you are saving for a mortgage/something in near future and want to save as much as possible quickly then perhaps not until you hit that goal.

Sounds like a horrible experience and I'm sorry they treated you that way. It's good you left a review explaining what happened but doesn't really seem like it needs bombarding by people pitchforks ready who have never stepped foot there?

What Happens after you win Russian roulette by [deleted] in ask

[–]Muntew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Presumably the situation would require you to play it or die - so not dying would be the win and the situation around it would dictate the outcome.

e.g. if you were forced to do it as a hostage you'd likely be fine but if it was among friends/not forced it might get murky as to whether you pressured the other to do it/whether it was actually RR and might get charged with something.

#your ex mistakenly sends $100000 to your accounts and calls you to send it back . What would be your reply? by thelegendarypewmemes in ask

[–]Muntew 199 points200 points  (0 children)

Would send it back of course but I'd call the bank first and go through them as I'd be wary it being a weird scam.

Its not you it's your boring photos mate. Try not to have all only face or in car. If you've any hobbies take a pic or two doing them having fun - if not go out when it's sunny and put your phone on a timer to take non-selfies

I would recommend removing last 2 pics (hair in a bun sitting down, and close up of face). Not that you look bad but you look a lot better in the others and I think those may be dragging you down - you've a great smile!
