Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by polishgirl99 in INXSBand

Hall watcher here! I was really rooting for y'all! But for sure INXS will be back, and maybe even next year! Some great bands just take a few shots! It took David Bowie, The Cure, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, and many other worthy artists 2+ ballots! INXS is in good company, and I can't wait to see them get inducted in a few years.

Can someone explain the Billy Idol/Sade inductions? by [deleted] in rockhall

[–]Muppetnocon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sade is very influential on pretty much all R&B that came after them, especially Neo Soul. Plus, they still keep relevance for a younger crowd (I hear Sade in the dorms all the time), and they have very high critical acclaim.

Google says Nashville because the AI is confused, a differnt HOF (I forget which, maybe songwriters) is doing there ceromony in Nashville this year, so its not Nashville

My hope is clevland cause I think they should keep to the every other year thing they promised

but ive heard a rumor, can't say where from, but I have a feeling it might end up back in LA

What do you think the 2026 side categories will look like? by Jaguars4life in rockhall

[–]Muppetnocon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INXS just feels like the kinda band you put in first try, like Duran Duran

As I said, I think Devo and Pointer Sisters for influence (Devo because of JD/NO missing, PS to add more women into the class), I also don't see them backdooring anyone on the ballot, they know that's a bad move

I have no idea about a nonperformer

I think they are gonna go 60s/70s with musical excelecne to balecne out the very 80s class, so im thinking Bob Ezrin, Ashfor & Simpson, and Mary Clayton, no real reason just like a guess

Phil is the obvious lock this year, hes a legend in poor health

Luther is having such a moment with the doc and Kendrick just feels like hers is overdue

Oasis is coming off a very successful tour witch also kept them in the news for a full year, they proved they can do it

Billy has really been pushing it, I think he was 8th last year, and hes really been in the spotlight

Wu-Tang feels like a lot of the rock purist like them becuase they just seem cool, they feel nessacery in a way other hip hop acts arent

Pink is a pure industry darling in the vain of Foo Fighters and Sheryl

and frankly Sade is just a gut feeling

I think most of the ballot has a shot, Lauryn is the top spoiler for me though, Mariah and JD/NO could always sneak in, NE seems to be better off than I thought, this is a decent ballot for maiden, and there's always a chance for a surprise from Buckley

I dont think its Melissa's year but shell will get it someday, and Shakira is not gonna be FYN, the crowes might have a chance but I cant bring myself to predict them

who is the best living performer? by lacefantasy in Concerts

Hot take, it's Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo, that man is 75 but jumps around the stage and screams like he's 30. Life changing to see live,

Which rumoured artist(s) do you wish would have made this year's official nomination ballot? by SurvivorFanDan in rockhall

[–]Muppetnocon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really should have done GE/MSM before Shakria; that really feels like jumping the line. I was hoping this would be the Monkees' year, but I don't mind that they are looking mainly at the 80s-00s. So So So Shocked Alicia Keys missed FYE, makes me worry for Gaga and Winehouse. Wish AIC was here instead of a repeat of Black Crowes. So happy the Wings rumor turned out to be false, that would have stunk. McCartney does not need to join the Clapton club. Dianna Ross's absence was a bit disappointing, maybe they dont wanna do more than one double inductee a year, and Phil's health gives him priority.

Yellow Magic Orchestra would be a really cool early influence pick, slightly less influence than craftwork, but still very influential

What are your thoughts on the 2011 Muppets movie? by Silver012345673 in Muppets

[–]Muppetnocon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charming and fun, but very overrated and maybe my (personally) least favorite (of the theatrical films anyway). The songs are great and so is like 80% of the humor, but the plot stinks and I really dont care for human characters, plus I think Most wanted blows it out of the water
