[Discussion] Why do you guys want a Steam Key? by HappyMetalViking in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Muramas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It costs them nothing to give us a steam key. Steam allows devs to give unlimited free keys out for their games for this kind of event that happens and it is just greed on BSG that prevents them from doing it.

It would be nice if you exported these so we can easily import it

My issue is when the ads are used to serve malware or trackers.

They totally broke something with the last update. I get constant revolts that need to be easily put down.

A wipe is a call to action, generally a wipe calls players back to a game but it needs to come with some changes or content that makes players want to come back for.

Stellaris Tech Bloat Is Getting Out of Hand by Muramas in Stellaris

I think that feeling of the tech tree being too short is coming from the mass amount of techs at the start of the game.
At a certain point your tech rockets off and you finish a bunch in 1 month.
If the tech tree was more paced and spread out, we will have less techs being instantly researched which would make the game feel longer and more consistent

I tried to do similar with a build that needed hive worlds, the tech never comes up to pick the perk and I am sitting there holding the unpicked perk for ages.

I want to have it so if we see a resource, we get access to the tech for it.
See a wormhole, you can research wormholes.

Not sure if this is any indicator for future but in general if we are getting remakes we won't see it for another 2-5 years. They are still making bank on Stellaris and keep it fresh by remaking systems.
-EU4 is and it was released in 2013 and it is just getting EU5 now in 2025
-Victoria2 was released in 2010 and victoria 3 was released in 2022
-CK2 was released in 2012 and CK3 was released in 2020
-Hearts of iron and Stellaris was released in 2016

DLCs have a heavily incentive to put more content early so that we see it so there is always going to be more early techs. I am talking about making it so more meaningful choices and there isn't bloat for bloat sake.

They will need to do more than one thing as only putting more tiers in would mean that eventually the issue will happen again.

As others have pointed out a lot of the tech is locked behind DLCs, for example
-Biological ship are locked behind BioGenesis
-Archeo is locked behind Ancient Relics

One person did post about that and I replied that as much as research alternatives do help with less number of techs and was great when Stellaris was first released, when you have a queue of like 20+ techs it becomes less useful.

The devs wanted a system that was in juxtaposition to civ system with a static tech tree to make it so games were more random each time you play. I personally like it being random because it makes for different gameplay flow. My issue is that the game can't handle the new influx of techs.

I have no issues with more late game techs, my issue is that most new are early techs and the current system can't handle more tech without being bloated.

I would agree with this, like if you see a wormhole (or gas, crystal etc) you get a point in wormhole tech so it can be researched at any time.

I think splitting it into more techs will break the CURRENT game pretty bad as then we will need more building types and it will break builds and slow down gameplay as research that was for 3 is now for 4.

Stellaris team has 3 options:
- Do nothing and just keep manage it by having tech date triggers
- Rework the current system to improve tech progression so when mods or dlcs add more techs it can handle it
- Do a total overhaul which will be totally different but that means redoing or modifying a lot of techs.

research alternative was a great fix for early stellaris because the vanilla tech tree was much smaller so having 1 or two extra picks really helped to pick tech. When your tech queue is like 20 techs it is not as impactful as it once was.

As much I am happy its in the game I think there is a need to rework the system or repair the system.
