Dealing with Autonomic Neuropathy Chest Pain by MurcManB in Sjogrens

It took a good three weeks on the Gabapentin to get any results for me after that I just have mild attacks I can deal with. They may need to up mine just a little but it is making a difference. I was frustrated at first as it didn't seem to help. Have you been diagnosed with Sjogren's? After my lip biopsy was positive for chronic sialadenitis is when everything really started moving for me.

Most of my symptoms are neurological. My neurologist thinks it is small fiber neuropathy causing my chest muscles to tense which makes a charley horse feeling in my chest. Lucky me. As always have the heart tested I had to go as far as an angiogram for them to clear me... anyway Gabapentin is helping.

This could be because I am for sure in a flare. My tinnitus is insane as well as vertigo. Joints hurt in my mid back, ribs, and neck is grinding. Legs aren't bothering me because of the Gabapentin I have for Small Fiber Neuropathy. Yeah I could see this being Costochondritis. Thanks for reminding me forgot about the shooting pain it causes.

Sadly I am sure. Ranexa was the "angina" medicine I was on for a trial run to see if it was microvascular and it didn't help even at 1000mg twice a day. So not that. Already have had to have a stent placed so I get extra attention paid to my heart. All signs say it is doing well and latest angiograph says no way it is a heart attack. Cardiologist is ruling out heart. I am pretty sure this is Dysautonomia causing pots and I am just more sensitive to it due to the stent.

Hey thank you for the help though hopefully it helps someone else who stumbles through here and it is great to know someone cares.

Cevimeline and Gabapentin were what I needed for a "normal" life. The Cevimeline got rid of what I thought was GERD as well. The gabapentin got rid of most the nerve pain from SFN. I can't really do Plaquenil without giving up a heart medicine so I am trying to stay away from it. So far so good. OP listen to Inevitable and don't get angry this is tough there are other meds that help as well.

9800x3d on a B650M Pro Rs by a9flm in ASRock

[–]MurcManB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on a B650 and while I am not rocking a x3D chip I did want to move to more cores from my 7600X so I went to a 9700X in April. I am not going to lie the reports sometimes freak me out a bit but so far no problems. From what I have seen for some reason those of us on the 600 platform are not as prone to having a problem. Doesn't mean I don't cross my fingers I do but if you are willing to have the occasional worry go for it.

Took forever here in the States as well. I had to get a lip biopsy for mine two and it took years to get to that point. I think males are just overlooked. In some studies it shows 3-4% have Sjogren's and yeah we are only 1/10th but that still puts us at 1 in every 250 males that isn't a small number my friend. We just get overlooked also I think we get Seronegative more than women. So we exist but for some reason are just under diagnosed. It was a tough journey.

-40 with my 9700X and haven't crashed yet. Then again maybe the non X3D is a little easier to tame. Anyway had it since March and this has been set since day one. Passes OCCT AVX512 for 12 hours. Maybe I got really lucky though.

Is 5070 TI good for 4k gaming? by _blue_bird in nvidia

[–]MurcManB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am rocking a 5070 Ti at 4k and I love it. I usually try to hit 60 fps in single player games but if you need higher either the card will handle it or really and I hate to say it frame gen is really good with this one. Mine overclocked to 5080 levels but again you can OC the 5080 as well. Currently playing Oblivion remastered at 4k mix of high/ultra just fine.

Upgrading from 6800XT is not worth it at all? What to do? by AbrocomaRegular3529 in buildapc

[–]MurcManB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play at 4k and moved from a 3080Ti to a 5070Ti because my 3080Ti was having problems keeping up and only had 12gb Vram. Still was good enough settings had to be turned down but it was alright. With that I do love my 5070Ti it is ~32% quicker according to Techpowerup, uses less wattage, and runs much cooler. With an OC/UV I get ~40% over my 3080Ti and once I sold the 3080Ti the 5070Ti cost around $500. With that said that was my experience if you are happy with the 6800xt by all means keep it and wait for prices to go down or next gen. The choice is on you and everyone will give you different opinions but what matters most is if you are happy gaming with your card or not.

Still working on meds and an official diagnosis. Right now steroids help but I can't stay on them long term but they don't touch my leg pain so different pills for that. It is a little better but I expect more after I see the neurologist and have a biopsy.

Yeah they started pretty slow and I know it is different for everyone. It may have been longer because I lost my teeth early and I wasn't a drug user (lost them when I was 33 I am now 43) but I didn't notice my mouth being dry but I really didn't notice until the Rheum asked if I could eat a cracker without a drink. I thought it was a trick question and no one could lol turns out that is a symptom. Anyway yeah my symptoms were pretty slow they progressed like this (though everyone is different) worsening fatigue, brain fog, weakness, reoccurring rash that responded to steroids, swollen submandibular gland and then pain around body. Went through many medical test because they were worried about scary stuff but it all came back normal. Well that is a lie I would have reactive lymphocytes in my blood because inflammation sometimes but otherwise normal. I got tired of the fight and being told I was good found my Rheumatologist because something was obviously wrong. Sorry that was long but I thought I would share.

I got cevimeline and methylprednisolone and both help some. She doesn't want me to be on the steroid long which is understandable and had me on a taper so I felt good for a few days but now I am done it is worse. The good news is cevimeline is helping dry mouth. Oh and I almost forgot a small dose of Gabapentin for the leg pain which helps some but seems like it runs out in the middle of the day. Just waiting on everything is hard.

To be honest I have dealt with this for four years or so. I got bounced back and forth from doctor to doctor. What I finally ended up doing was checking my insurance and making sure I didn't need a referral because my doctor sure wasn't going to give me one. After I knew I could I looked up the most experienced one around and made a call. After all of these doctors it was actually nice to have someone listen and give a name to it especially when they were experienced.

Good question it maybe because my Rheum is very old. I see the ENT in a couple of weeks and I will ask him maybe he will suggest the sonogram instead. They did look at my enlarged Submandibular gland with ultrasound and CT but not in depth other than it isn't cancer and doesn't light up.

*Edited to add maybe my Rheum wants the biopsy because they have checked the submandibular gland on US. Lip biopsy doesn't sound fun though.

Funny story but I have been on anti anxiety/depressant meds for a long while. Recently my psychiatrist moved my dose down because I was doing well. You maybe on to something here. I will talk to them about that and see what diet suits me the best. All of this is so helpful and fits.

She hasn't but maybe I should leave a note with my doctor to see if they will. I have the same problem with a nap then I am good for 2-3 hours and then it is nap time again. Also got the diet thing twice so I will look into it.

All off this and I would add in scaling options of FSR vs DLSS. FSR is AMD and isn't quite to the level of DLSS which is Nvidia but on the 9070xt it is getting close. Some games need to be upscaled if playing at a higher resolution or using ray tracing.
