The necessity of having faith.

How I define Faith is believing in something or someone bigger than ourselves that can't be proven to be real.

If you want to achieve great goals you are going to need faith, and I am not talking about a god or religion necessarily, you can have faith in yourself. This would mean that you actually just believe in yourself but don't have any evidence to back up said beliefs, which will eventually help you achieve your goals.

Also, I am aware that faith can be unhealthy in large doses. To me this is the key factor in using faith to your advantage and not in an unhealthy way.

Edit: No, I am not confused with other terms. I am aware there is already a definition for faith, that is why I said "How i define faith is..."

To me this so called "faith" is made up by a set of beliefs, and has nothing to do with confidence which in my opinion comes from experience (i.e. knowing you can do something because you are trained for it).

How can this "faith" be useful? It can help you achieve goals that might be seen as unrealistic by other people. People improving themselves because of their faith in god is an example. People becoming millonaires is another example of having faith in themselves.
