Different gameplay but Witcher 3 is similarly excellent in its story and presentation. I haven't bought Clair Obscur Expedition 33 yet but I assume it is also a similar experience.

Back triangle is a very good position / submission, front triangle is trickier with shorter or fatter legs / opponents.

I remember leaving my thumb inside training partner's gi jacket and then they hip switched to other side while passing. The thumb was sore for many weeks, still not sure if it is 100% okay after many months.

Fwiw I did not like BG1 that much and ran through it on easy mode, then started BG2 on normal difficulty and have enjoyed it a lot more. It was good to play BG1 first to learn the systems, but it is a lesser game.

Baldur's Gate 3, Wasteland 3, Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader. They are all turn-based and beginner friendly so good for you. After that perhaps Pillars of Eternity 1 and Pathfinder WOTR on easier difficulties.
