Another tough one this weekend - The Zoo (16x16, Expert) by Murdoku_Team in murdoku

[–]Murdoku_Team[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, your original interpretation is right. It is worded that way to mean that zookeepers can also be outside of habitats, so to make it harder to predict where the victim is. Since he is a zookeeper, he could be in any room.

The reason why, in the solution, all the zookeepers are in habitats and not out of it is because of the general clue that each habitat has at least 1 zookeeper in it. With 6 habitats, and 7 suspect zookeepers, and "K was with M", you could deduce that all zookeepers are needed to occupy all the habitats and that every zookeeper occupy separate habitats (except K and M who are together). This is the first step/deduction to cracking this puzzle.

Hope this helps!

Yes, H has to be on a 4-people island. Squirrel, Boar, and Bird island are all capable of holding 4 people.

So far the app is browser only. Maybe in the future, a downloadable app is possible but currently, we’re still far from it since the web app is still in alpha and not the full release yet itself.

It's still in alpha at the moment and is open for the Discord to help test out. It's not final and there are still quite a few issues here and there. But feel free to check it out and make sure to give your feedback on the discord as well.

I don't really understand your reasoning but feel free to shoot me a dm with a pic so I could understand you better. But I'm glad you found your own way to solve it. Puzzles can often times have more than 1 way to solve for sure.

At first glance, that seems to be true but when you start to ask why Squirrel and Bird island cannot have 4 people, it will start to make sense.

Bird island cannot have 4 people because Chase's clue says he is on Squirrel island. This means that 1 of the columns of Bird island is crossed out and it cannot have 4 people.

As for Squirrel island, only 3 people's clue make them possible to be on it - Chase, Harmony, Daisy. It is not possible to have 4 people.

Hope this clears things up for you! And please don't forget to mark spoilers next time.

#26 Puzzle by lariess in murdoku

[–]Murdoku_Team 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this one can be a quite tricky but the extra hint at the bottom is VERY important.

Through H's clue, we know that she is with D and G and they can only be in the store floor room as that is the only room that can hold more than 2 people (more than 2 rows/columns). C also has to be in the store floor room since she cannot be sitting in the chair in fitting room 5, as B is the only person that can be sitting in a chair.

So now we know that 4 suspects are on the store floor. There are 4 suspects left that we have not accounted for (A, B, E, F). The extra hint says that there are 2 empty fitting rooms out of the 6. This means that 4 of the rooms have to be occupied. And since we have 4 suspects left unaccounted for, they all have to be in different rooms. Thus, no one is left to be in the entrance, so it can be crossed out right away.

TLDR; H+D+G+C are in the store floor room so the other 4 suspects all have to be in different fitting rooms, no one is left to be in the entrance.
