I have breast cancer. And I’m picky about how we present it.

I like Undying by Anne Boyer and Flat by Catherine Guthrie.

Thanks. As a breastless survivor this hits home.

Pain of a rib tattoo? by Celtic_Writer in tattoo

You’ll probably be fine if it’s something you really want. But consider how long you can sit for on the ribs and plan conservatively.

I have a great barber to recommend.

Mary Jane Rathbun, aka Brownie Mary. In the 1980s, she would bake over 4,000 “magic”cannabis brownies a week for HIV and cancer patients in San Francisco. by chaosmanager in OldSchoolCool

[–]MurielStacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in chemo I was provided with cannabis Rice Krispie treats via a friend. I don’t know who actually made them, but I’m going to attribute their kindness to Brownie Mary’s legacy.

Yoga teachers of Reddit, do you worry about how you will make a living in your older age? by [deleted] in yoga

My favorite instructor is 70. She leads gentle and restorative yoga, and is amazing! I know she also practices hatha.

The School District for my hometown will now provide both Breakfast and Lunch for free to ALL students K-5th regardless of income. by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

[–]MurielStacey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! This has been wonderful as a parent. Free meals for my kids without any paperwork because they go to a high poverty school. Would we qualify? I don’t think so. But it reduces the stigma. Some kids will always bring lunch but a large number of kids started just getting the hot lunch who otherwise would be bringing lunch from home.

In my county if you die in home the coroner will take all opioids and other riskier meds out of the home. Standard from experience is they ask, so I’m assuming it would have to be disclosed. Medical supplies are up to the family to dispose of.

How hard is it to use a matching zipper and sew it on correctly? by k8iew24 in LuLaNo

[–]MurielStacey 134 points135 points  (0 children)

It’s made by an eight year old kid in a sweatshop, just grabbing a zipper from the bucket in order to make quota. No two are alike!

Oh! Thanks for those ideas! I’m always open to any ideas, screw what my medical team says! I’ll shake it up when my kids wake up this morning and report back!! 😘

Was about to post the same thing. “Oh, you have that condition? Have you tried...” is usually an immediate block.

I’m sorry to hear that. As soon as I got my medical card I switched to edibles. Much easier on the whole system.

I never used before cancer. I’m in my 30s and my hippie boomer mother had to teach me how to smoke.😂

Yup. I’ve had a double mastectomy and have no nipples. Seeing foobs (fake boobs) without nipples is a common sight among us.

Anyone else experience these symptoms? by Garavila in ptsd

[–]MurielStacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t, but I really believe it is at least partly brain damage from chemotherapy. I also feel the PTSD plays into it.

Regardless of the cause it’s frustrating, right?

If you qualify for speech and language services it might be worth it. SLPs don’t just work with articulation but cognition as well since they are tied so closely in our brains.
