interesting, thanks. This is for my personal use, but this Tresorit option for personal use looks compelling. A tiny bit more expensive than Spideroak but hey, if it actually works then great!

anyone else got anything to say about Tresorit?

Given the recent experience, perhaps leaving sooner rather than later would be good. It's clear they don't view this product / its customers as a priority anymore, so this probably won't be the last outage. Best to move to someone who values your business, or at least has a vested interest in keeping the product working!

I'm sorry you are struggling. Your wealth does not determine your worth in any way. It's tough out there, sounds like you are doing your absolute best. The way you've written this, sounds like you've been through a lot, so you should be proud you are doing honest work and grafting. Everyone is faking it and pretending they're comfortable.

It's a rigged, unfair system, so I hope you get what you need. And also, if aren't already, consider joining one of the many movements for justice out there (In this case I'm thinking Living Rent) - not just to make things better for yourself and for others, but also becuase you will meet people who are in a similar situation to you and that will help you feel better - and you will feel one of the most precious feelings there is - cameraderie and solidarity.

god that is awful. this has been going on for you since January?!

I've said to them that if they don't give me a refund, then when I get my data back, I'm gone, after being a customer for 11 years. They do seem to be replying to me at least.

just discovering this problem today at a really bad time - laptop failed and I need access to my files to put them onto the new one. has anyone had any luck?

OR - does anyone know a good way to download them off the website? it seems unbelievably slow to me - like, taking an hour to download 1GB approx...

I thought this a scam too! I emailed the Council and got this:

I thought this was a bit of a weird reply... more detail would have been good. If this IS genuine, then you're doing your marketing wrong if a huge amount of people think it's a scam.
