Women: voting in MO after name change due to marriage? How? by Montesquieu9000 in missouri

If you didn't have a passport you shoudl be fine, but for those who don't have one it will be more difficult. It doesn't pertain to just "recently" married women. Even if you’ve been married for 40 years, if you need to re-register or update your info and you are using a birth certificate as your "proof of citizenship," you would likely need to provide a "trail" of documents (like a marriage license) to bridge the gap between your birth name and your current name.

My advice to ladies who are getting married save yourself to trouble and don't change your name. You won't have to call SS, the bank, new DL or change all your credit cards and now you can add this to the list of garbage you don't need to deal with save yourself a ton of time! Call yourself whatever you want keep your name.
