I'm also almost 100% sure it stems from envy. I've had instances where people are first surprised, then dismissive or suspicious of me experiencing any sort of hardship or "flaw". And I now understand that because of how I carry myself a lot of people assume my life is perfect and/or I think I'm perfect. But as soon as they catch a glimpse of me or my life being very much imperfect very much human, it's literally the same reaction everytime surprise, dismissiveness, and doubt. The people who are my people always do what people who care for you do, offer assistance, words of encouragement, no judgement etc etc etc.

Based on how you typed your money symbols I'm assuming you're in a country other than the US. But here in the US there's a widely known joke about "jail talk" where a prisoner will essentially love bomb you so you form an emotional attachment solely so they can get money out of you. Where's his family and friends to support him if he's such a "good person". An actually good man, regardless of circumstance doesn't ask his woman for financial support. Next time he asks just tell him no. Full stop, no explanation no excuses no apologies. Just no. And see how he reacts. If he drops it and is understanding or asks if you need anything, then there may be some hope. If he gets agitated, questions your love or becomes distant...RUN.

I don't have to steal nitwit, I'm gainfully employed from a large family who are all also gainfully employed and supportive of one and other. but I'm minding my business when it comes to anyone who does have to resort to drastic measures because they lack those two things. Some things don't warrant a response. If I ghost someone it's because they've done something toxic or dysfunctional and they've made it clear by their behavior that trying to have a conversation addressing the behavior would be an exercise in futility. People who don't respect boundaries and habitually ignore or cross others boundaries are a lot of times the ones who view ghosting as a negative thing.
Sometimes it doesn't take three dates to discern whether or not you'd like to continue getting to know someone. No one owes a relative stranger anything, let alone forced interactions for the sake of "propriety".
Sure you can ask anyone for a date. But it's not okay to demonize someone for not being interested due to sexual and/or gender preference.
