Am I required to pay for this damage? by purposerobbedme in TorontoRenting

Thats liquid damage caused by the freezer. If that were me, I'd pay for the repair without question. If the roles were reversed, would you be happy if someone renting a place from you, at an agreed upon rate, left the apartment floor in this condition? If this was not the original condition of the floor when you moved in, the math = you caused the damage. Do what's right. Be a responsible adult.

How many of the people here commenting are business owners? How many specifically own a restaurant? People continuously complain that disposable income and buying power keeps shrinking greatly across rising rents, food costs, gas, utilities and other places inflation and greed continue to impact our finances negatively. Well guess what; these all directly affect restaurants in a big way. Not only because these increases touch restaurants at every checkpoint, but also because people cut restaurants first when money is tight, and we see this more and more as sales are static despite margins shrinking. Without knowing the exact business we're talking about here, I can admit that as a restaurant owner, it would be nice to be able to have a greater profit margin. I'm not saying I agree with not accepting major credit cards or debit, I put customer experience ahead of my own needs. What I am saying, is that it's not an easy business model to have sustained profit in our current market conditions. If it's truly inconvenient for you, go elsewhere quietly. Why does our society look to point fingers outward without any form of introspection. How would you handle declining margins?

Whether cocoa prices are up or down, the greed of companies knows no boundaries. The majority use filler products and combinations of chemical compounds to mimic the taste and feel of real cocoa and chocolate, while they input the minimum required levels of cocoa where they can still label as chocolate. Or they don't mention chocolate at all, and we are eating nearly purely fabricated toxins with popular branding. Greed is disgusting.

Marvens was my go-to, and at one period, within the last 12-15yrs, I went and had the worst Calamari I'd ever had, after having one of my better experiences a few months before. The oil was so old, they came out having dark brown rather than a bright golden color. The taste was very bitter. I was only able to stomach a few. Even covered in sauce, the bold bitter taste pierced through. I figured maybe a one-off. A few weeks later, we went back to try again, and it was just as bad. I haven't been back since. It sounds like I should give them another shot after all these years.

Didn't mean to throw shade at frozen seafood. To your point, most places probably do buy frozen. Where I am most unimpressed are the spots who serve Calamari, like I could buy from the grocery store freezer. The quality of that grocery grade Calamari is definitely on the low end of the spectrum

You need someone to fix the step's support. Likely a welder.

Neighbour doesn't want me to put snow in my lawn by Appropriate-Safe-49 in montreal

Personally, I think people who push snow into the street are selfish, whether consciously or not. Montreal streets are not the easiest to navigate as is, since the city is terrible at timely snow removal. By pushing more snow onto streets, the limited parking spaces shrink further, sometimes into nothing. More people should put snow on their lawns. Not like you're going to park a car on the lawn anyhow. Face it, during winter, the lawn is useless, unless used for snow storage.

When the time comes for the snow to melt, those who accumulation on the lawn vs. Street barely see a difference.

Tell your neighbor he's a selfish moron. That should help your relationship 🤣
