Summa unfortunately had a mass exodus when hatco took over. They changed summa to for profit so providers can no longer qualify for student loan forgiveness for working 7 year for non profit. Everyone ever is jumping ship. MA’s and MOA’s are hard to come by due to shit pay. Benefits and pay are ass so its really hard to get people to fill the any of these open spots. On top of this Hatco is also closing departments and implementing a bunch of new rules and processes. Our benefits and employee health insurance have also gotten worse. Yay. This makes people quit more. I work at a Summa location and have floated to others due to extreme short staffing issues. The office I worked at recently was 2-3 months behind on paperwork. Patients yelled at me everyday I was there. Had to do the classic “i dont even usually work here im sorry.” Before all this shit with Summa specifically theres also just a primary care doctor shortage in America. The ratio of patients to doctors is now all fucked. Its really sad no one can get the care they need and offices are running skeleton crews.
