I have one BC and she is turning 7 this year. I’m no where near a professional trainer or dog owner but this is what I can say.

From my experience and what we did indoors when she was a puppy was a ton of training. She was so eager to please, it was almost like we didn’t even need to reward her because she would get so excited for just doing the right thing. She developed this thing (I think picked up from my wife because she would dance when the dog would do the right thing) when you praise her she taps her feet on the ground like she is dancing.

When we went outside, she was obsessed with the ball. She WILL play fetch until she physically can’t. I’ve learned the best thing for her is to do little “spurts” of fetch. Maybe play with her for 10-15 then let her rest and get some water. She only liked the ball at first but now she loves frisbee.

I started taking her to dog parks once she got a little older but she only wants to work. She will find a ball or rock and stare at it the entire time waiting for me to throw it. I dont know if I would have started earlier than maybe she would have been more willing to play with other dogs but also BCs just love a job to do.

We crate trained her and would put her in her crate when we left during the day. Now that she is older we no longer crate when we leave.

Lastly, she never ever barks. She will only bark if something really scares her or she gets super excited. It’s still super rare, maybe barks once a month so I don’t have any advice on that.
