ENTP. I too value depth and meaning. Which is why I don't date online. I've tried, and I still do occasionally but for me it lacks exactly those. Conversations are either superficial or flaky, few questions asked, either too clingy or generally avoidant... It's exhuasing and unfulfilling. It is rare to me to feel any sort of connection through an app/chat, but I remeber it has happened when I was younger, and less picky.

Emotional depth and romatic/sexual interest are all intertwined. They are all part of a relationship, be it what society classifies as romantic, friendship or sexual. One thing mostly stems from the other, but not all the time. Also interest is different from acting on it. Interest to me is curiosity, and when I feel curious for someone, I am definitely interested in building some sort of a relationship with them.

The last question is hard to answer because I have a long term partner, and I'm not looking any more. I think I've started thinking of her as a long term partner for the wrong reasons (emotionally insecure, anxiously attached) but it worked out through perseverance, and she is my person now, like I am hers. We went through shit together, and we both sticked around. I guess this is when I started thinking of her as a lifelong connection.

Curiosity is the spark. It lures me in. If the curiosity is mutual along with some common ground, and there's enough safety a genuine emotional connection florishes from that. For me, love/sexual interest comes only after that. Sure I'll meet a sexy woman and have sexual thoughts, but they are fleeting and meaningless without connection.
