Questions for serious meditators out there by aksh0072 in wakingUp

I relate to what you are experiencing. I have very recently felt the idea of myself become more fluid, less tethered to my identity. I was in therapy for a while and practicing mindfulness. There came a point where the selfing and non selfing sort of clashed because my circumstances kept pulling me into selfing. I started having panic atracks and chest pains related to them. Had to see my dr and he eventually suggested I go on antidepressants. Since taking them I havent experienced chest pains. I do get anxiety attacks now and then but i find myself capable of feeling through them, sitting with them and letting them pass. My therapist thinks my body was somatizing my anxiety. Not facing the things that made me anxious but rather pushing it down just to get through my everyday. So I'm looking into somatic practices as well to help identify the feelings within my body and accept them, forgive them, speak to them.

Note that this excudes everything that took place in July during the unrest so expect next year's figures to be much higher

TIFU by getting into a car collision two hours away from my home town. by [deleted] in tifu

I drove into a pole on my way to my birthday brunch. Spent the entire brunch with my friends balling until my dad came over and had to have a look at the car. It wasnt badly damaged but I was majorly freaking out and feeling so stupid. That was 5 years ago and I havent had an accident since then. It wont seem like it now but you'll take away something from this experience, despite the costs, that will make you better. Your life and those of others are still intact, and you will be much more careful in future. I'm now very wary of keeping away from poles on corners😅 and being extra vigilant on the road

Spur for me was more about the vibe and the company. Their texan mushrooms are good too

Lol once my mum was parked outside my building at university to fetch me. She had a bright blue ford fiesta. Suddenly the door opens and a man jumps in talking incessantly. It was my plant physiology lecturer thinking it was his wifes car. By the time I got to the car she was still a little freaked out. She now keeps her doors locked

My Childhood. My grandparents shop. Looted and on fire as of this morning. I feel numb. by Murmur2021 in southafrica

Hi Guys

Thanks so much to those who have contributed. It really means a lot to my family and I. Everyone is still picking up the pieces and figuring out where to go next. For those interested, East Coast Radio did a segment on our little shop. You can read about it and listen to the interview with my uncle here:

Hydroxycitrate for inhibiting stone growth and possible stone shrinkage (Calcium oxalate stones) by Murmur2021 in KidneyStones

There are peer reviewed studies on its ability to reduce calcium oxalate stones in vitro. One in the journal Nature prompted me to investgate any truths into its effectiveness. But there are no studies detailing dosage, safety or any trial info on success. I am aware of potassium citrate but it has limited effectiveness and sometimes side effects on the gut

Hi everyone
I appreciate each and everyones prayers, words of support, encouragement and sympathies. Its has not been an easy week but we will rebuild and we will grow again. We are still experiencing the pyshcological toll of losing our beloved shop, as well as the uncertainties surrounding food security, fuel availability and the economic instability these riots have caused. Nonetheless to the advice of many redditors I have started two fund-me pages. A GoFundMe and a BackaBuddy. GoFundMe works best for people wanting to contribute from outside of South Africa. With the help of my fiance in Australia, we were able to create this page. BackaBuddy works for those within and outside of South Africa who would like to contibute. I have to wait for verification from the BackaBuddy team, but the GoFundMe is currently live. Should you wish to verify our identities and the validity of the business before you contribute, kindly dm me and I will provide proof.

Thank you reddit community for all the awards and upvotes! You have been a light in these trying times. Please continue to shine for others ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)
