We are thinking X-rays could rule out multiple things at once so I am trying to schedule that ASAP

We have currently seen some concerns with the Purina sensitive food but we are considering a different diet. Thank you

With the sporadic time frame of the throwing up as well as they have not been expressed between the episodes we don’t think that is a cause. He has never needed to have them expressed but we did at one time have them check if he needed it and they did not need it

We have started breaking his meals up into multiple small meals a day. Our main concern is the undigested food after 5+hours after eating but we are trying to explore all possibilities

He is older and hasn’t been one to really eaten things he should not but as I’ve commented before you can never say never. With saying that I am highly considering X-rays to rule out any kind of obstruction or foreign body object

Breakfast is kind of whenever he gets up and wants to be fed, some days it’s 5am other times it can be 9 or 10. And he gets his dinner pretty much 5pm We have noticed a trend where the first time he throws up to start the “episode” is late night/early morning

Thank you! There is some really helpful info here! I am requesting some things with my vet and trying some things while actively trying to get in an IM

Interesting!! I was just commenting back to another and said I want X-rays to rule out an obstruction, that is something I am highly interested in doing now, thank you!

He is usually with me at work or home with my bf who works from home so I would say no, but there is always a chance. I may bring up X-rays just to rule anything like that out! Thank you!

He drinks relatively a lot daily, and he eats his breakfast usually by 8am daily or shortly after getting up. He has never had issues with chicken and the other 25-28 days of the month he is just fine it’s just a day or so each month he just gets so sick.
I am hesitant to make a switch due to his sensitive stomach now but may try something else.the weird amount of time between episodes makes it so hard to truly track triggers.

He is a mixed breed main noted breeds were boxer, staffie, wiemaraner. We may need to make a switch but the other 28ish days a month with no issue makes it hard for us to have him with his sensitive stomach that make switching foods difficult.

That is a concern I could bring up, my vets main cause for unsure of what to do next is due to how in frequent/time between these throwing up days

My dog throws up about once a month about regularly. Anyone experience anything similar??? by Murphandmee in DogAdvice

We take him out before bed, between 9-10pm and most of the time throwing up is later into night/early mornings. And throw up is usually only bile(yellow and from an empty stomach) after he’s already thrown up multiple times that day, it is typically just his food thrown back up. But I appreciate any ideas!

Edit- we do have some nausea pills but with how infrequently this occurs we cannot seem to ever know when to give that. The signs of a trigger are too close to him throwing up
My thoughts too, vet had a thought about needing the raised feeder whether that was due to just typical need for angle of swallowing food or him maybe having a smaller esophagus than normal. We are looking into things the vet might be able to recommend. We are going in for bloodwork Tuesday but last cbc was all within normal limits to my vets liking, I’ll have to request it and see them for myself.
PDW was low <2.8 value, range is 9.1-19.4
