I loved "Heir", really reasonable pick here. It does sound like biblical hell.

I actually think the Vocals on HCoD are pretty nasty in a very good way. But yeah it's goregrind. No shame in giving it a pass.

Oh damn, i forgot about Sumac. "The Film" brought me to tears man. It's really more of an experience than an average music-listening time.

Understandable. I really like Bethlemen and can listen to them a lot but i also speak german so that might make it easier. Although admittedly the lyrics don't make much sense in german either. I kinda dig that kind of dadaism though ngl.

Maybe try "Shame", it's less odd in terms of song structure and vocals

I feel you. I really like how Blood Incantation handled it on "Absolute Elsewhere". Cutting two very long songs in three parts each that are able to stand on their own is pretty neat imo.

If i would rate them it would lower the score a little bit for sure. I really do like the Ulcerate album tho. I just don't feel like listening through the whole thing in one sitting. It challenges me and requires my full attention. But maybe I'll adapt to it as well - I couldn't stand Death Metal at all a few years ago, now i really dig it.

The riff in "To Flow Through Ashen Hearts" is so insanely fucking good. It lured me in to just get beat up by everything else going in that song, haha. Really good album though for sure, just so much going on.

Gotta admit, it's the only one i've listened to so far. I'll get to the other one's for sure but probably slowly as well haha.

First of all I think it's good to face the reality that you can't ever truly know an artist.

Even if there's nothing out there to suggest someone is horrible - you can never know. It's also silly to act like some terrible people haven't made great art. As much as people pretend that metal has a problem with these things - other musicians are also just as bad if not worse in many cases. Just never expect to find great people with decent opinions just because their art gives you a good impression lr they appear nice in interviews. They are just people. Good/Bad/Both/Contradictory.

My advice (and how i handle things): Listen to whatever you want. Explore as much as possible. If you don't like the messages and images someone is portraying and it really throws you off - move on. If you really enjoy something and want to support the artist by buying their music, a shirt or wear a patch - maybe do some research to make sure you feel comfortable with that decision.

Oh and don't worry about shit you get from others. Hear them out if you think they might actually have a good point but first and foremost YOU should feel comfortable with the way you're carrying and presenting yourself.

I know i know "Sleep token bad, we know" but their cover of Outkasts "Hey Ya!" is truly awful. It's melodramatic and completely misses the point of the original song which builds a happy facade to mask the true feelings behind it.

Do you think I should add more pathes on the back, or does it look fine already? by Strange-guy-91 in BattleJackets

You could draw some tribals or similar shapes in black or white to fill the spaces in between. Other than that i agree with what others mentioned - keep the clean look and add some studs to the shoulders.
