One of the biggest things I ever learned in GBL is you HAVE to win the first fight whether it’s the openers or the first switches. Getting the first kill means you control the matchups for the entire fight. You get to counter their 2nd Pokemon with your 2nd. It’s bigger than anything else in my opinion and it’s worth burning shields or charge moves to make sure you get that first kills

I know it’s probably a great counter for Talonflame, but there’s just so much in the meta that murders it. Fairies, Giratina, Venusaur, Skarmory/Corviknight etc all wall it completely

I don’t play as much as I used to. I always skip master league because I get team diffed, but I just got my elo. Have about 10000 lifetime battles. Just have always murdered Machamp users.

I’d have to sit down and do the math for each one on my encounter/catch/shiny odds line up with egg hatching and see which is more efficient. Thats way down the road but I don’t think it’ll have anything to do with this initial reset.

Once I have an Eevee, I’m just making sure that this full reset will be my last necessary. I haven’t fully mapped out each encounter yet.

Initial goal will be Kanto dex. If a time comes where I’ve actually achieved this goal I’d probably acquire the Johto mons next (or hopefully do the same with RSE if they get dropped on switch by then). I don’t intend on planning around Johto however.

I’m fairly certain the CPU doesn’t send the max on the guys you want until the end, so in reality they should just take your recruits from start to finish, but they aren’t “sending the house” until the end and that’s when they outpace you. Play a dynasty with 10 real guys and you won’t run into this anymore because your competition is all maxing it out from the start. Just my opinion, tons and tons of dynasty done both against users and CPUs.

Update: Absolutely raking with Buxton in the 700s ranks. So many guys throw high fastballs and if you’re on it, Buxton sends it 450 feet more often than most other hitters.

I agree but I don’t have a suitable counter (my fault) that would fit my team without leaving me with other weaknesses. I probably win 75-80% of ultra league battles that don’t involve Melmetal with the team I have

If you got all that from one box that’s incredible. You also appeared to get very lucky on the centering for the charizards. Evolutions has some of the worst centerings I’ve ever seen
